@Vaboee There is a reason that they only show a child using this. It is miniature. It took months to arrive from China, then it turned out to be a cheap desk ornament that the company refused to take back. Had to dispute it with my credit card,

American exceptionalism on display in Florida. A man’s life eclipsed. An eight year old boy destroyed, and a grumpy old man will now die in prison because he grabbed his gun instead of his garden hose. Let freedom ring. cnn.com/videos/us/2023…

@millburntwp Respectfully, low speed limits are not an indication of safety unless speed limits are enforced. I live on Glen. The speed limit is 25. No one passes my house moving under 40. Ever. Many go >50. Never seen a car pulled over. Not once. It is not safe for children walking.

@christaylor_nyc Look at that relaxed smile on Michael Stipe in the days before fame transformed him into a public brooder.

@ChudsOfTikTok @cooltxchick Am I the only one who watched this with the sound off and thought he was watching a video of Dr. Oz?
English

@Jasonarm92 We agree on that at least, Jason. At best, the purpose of guns for most Americans is useless. For others, they are instruments to kill. In most cases, the person they kill is themselves or someone they love.
English

@adamofbruce If I thought the argument was silly, I wouldn't be making it. We disagree. That's fine.
BTW, if the only purpose of a gun were to kill, w/ 500M guns in the US why are we all not dead 10x over by now? Clearly, the overwhelming majority aren't used to kill so purpose is meaningless
English

@Jasonarm92 Oh, Jason, you guys and the car analogies. I’m sorry, but I just can’t. When someone is bludgeoned with a hammer, I’m not anti-carpenter tools. It’s a silly argument, respectfully. Guns have a single purpose- to kill. And they are extremely efficient at it.
English

@adamofbruce Describing someone who commits a crime as "law-abiding" is contradictory. Do we refer a person who mows down people with a car as a law-abiding car owner because he had a license to drive? No. The guy was a person who committed a crime. There's nothing law-abiding about that.
English

@Jasonarm92 Because he was a law abiding gun owner (no criminal history) until he got upset and shot his wife with his absurd ankle piece. People lose their temper and make mistakes. They forget to secure their weapons sometimes. People are fallible. It's the guns.
English

@adamofbruce Why do you refer to him as "law-abiding" when the article is about him committing a murder and you use the word "crime" in the next sentence?
English

@Jasonarm92 @MN_CRIME Not trying? It’s effortless for you, Jason! 😂
Go pats.
English

@adamofbruce @MN_CRIME BTW, I'm not trying to give you a hard time. Why you'd draw the "threat to the public" conclusion about a person based on what's written in the article including the police view of the situation which is the opposite of your conclusion is what I find interesting.

The Pine County Sheriff's Office says the death of a 3-year-old child is under investigation after an apparent medical incident at a home around 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 8 in Hinckley. Deputies responded to the 500 block of 1st St. SW. and learned that a child at the home had died. No further information has been released about the cause of the child's death and investigation is underway with assistance from the Minnesota BCA. The Pine County Sheriff says there is no threat to the public.

English

@Jasonarm92 @MN_CRIME I’m not going to convince you, Jason. And you’re not going to get me to unlearn what I know about public health, human psychology, and statistics. I’m just glad that this guy isn’t my neighbor and that my child didn’t have an opportunity for a play date at his home.
English

@adamofbruce @MN_CRIME The public is safe because this was a tragic accident, not a murder with indication the father is intent on going out in public & murdering anyone. Possessing a semi-auto rifle owned by millions of Americans is not an indication the public isn't safe from this person.
English

@Jasonarm92 @MN_CRIME There is a dead child as a result of an irresponsible gun owner. That same gun owner is now in possession of a weapon of war. What about that tells you that the public is safe? Just because the man isn’t stalking people doesn’t mean there is no risk to public safety.
English

@adamofbruce @MN_CRIME Hi Adam, the news article referencing the police stated there is no threat to the public. Everything after that is your opinion on why you think the police are wrong.
English

@Jasonarm92 @MN_CRIME Respectfully, nothing I wrote in that quote is an opinion. Unless you are referring to the part where I assume that the father whose toddler killed himself with an unsecured weapon is grieving. Is that what you meant? Grieving is a leap too far?
English

@adamofbruce @MN_CRIME That would be an opinion piece, not the news.
English

@MN_CRIME No threat to the public? Try this instead: “A grieving gun owner with a history of failing to secure his weapons in the presence of toddlers is currently in possession a weapon designed for warfare.”
Yet another perfectly avoidable child dead because- freedom. #NotADragQueen

Police say the 3-year-old boy shot himself in the head with his father's 9mm handgun. Officers found a total of four firearms in the house. Police identified the child as Thomas Pauza-Moore, who would have turned 4 on Aug. 27.

@JonathanShedler I agree that therapy research is problematic, although immediate symptom improvement is an important outcome for many patients, including those who engage in harmful bx. When the house is on fire, we need to get people to safety before we explore the structural problems.
English

@adamofbruce I get it. I should qualify it and say that I did see him in 96 or 97 in the 4th row:) I’ve seen a lot of shows and that was the best I have ever seen.
