🗣️ Brilliant from Dougie Critchley on if Bruno Fernandes should win the PFA Premier League POTS award: “Yeah, absolutely. I mean, I think some people say, Man United have had so few games, they haven't played in Europe, but neither did Kante when he won it in 2017. “Neither did Mahrez. Neither did Luis Suarez when he won it. “And, he hasn't, of course, won the league this year. But nine of the last 16 PFA Player of the Years haven't won the league. “I don't think it's actually imperative. And this guy has created the most chances in the entirety of Europe. And the last player to create more in the premier league season was Kevin de Bruyne in 2019/20 and he didn't win the league that year either. And he was named PFA Player of the Year. “So, I think exceptional performance is just exceptional performance and he has been brilliant.” [via Sky Sports Football | TikTok]

WHY DID DAVID PICK UP FIVE STONES IF HE ONLY NEEDED ONE? People say David only needed faith. They say if God was really with him, one stone should have been enough. They say preparation makes faith look weak. But Scripture shows something deeper. David did not walk toward Goliath with careless confidence. He walked toward him with faith, wisdom, skill, and readiness. The five stones were not proof that David doubted God. They were proof that David understood the battle in front of him. Here are the truths that change everything: 1️⃣ Faith Does Not Mean You Stop Preparing → 1 Samuel 17:40 David did not pick up one stone. He picked up five. That detail matters because faith is not the same as being careless. David believed God would deliver him, but he still chose the stones, carried his sling, and approached Goliath with what he had already learned to use. Biblical faith is not passive. It moves. It obeys. It prepares. David did not prepare because he trusted the stones more than God. He prepared because the battle was real and the assignment was serious. 2️⃣ David Refused To Fight In Someone Else’s Armor → 1 Samuel 17:38 to 39 Saul tried to dress David in armor, but David knew he could not fight this battle pretending to be someone else. Saul’s armor looked stronger than a sling. It looked more official. It looked more impressive. But it was not what God had trained David to use. David had spent years in the field with a sling in his hand, protecting sheep when nobody was watching. Sometimes people will try to put their image, methods, or expectations on you, but the weapon God trained in private may be exactly what He uses in public. 3️⃣ The Five Stones Were Strategy, Not Fear → Proverbs 21:31 “The horse is made ready for the day of battle, but victory rests with the LORD.” David picking up five stones does not mean he was afraid God would fail. It means he understood wisdom. Scripture does not teach reckless spirituality. It teaches dependence on God with responsible obedience. You prepare the horse, but you do not worship the horse. You make the plan, but you surrender the outcome to God. David’s preparation did not compete with his faith. It revealed the maturity of his faith. 4️⃣ God Uses What You Practiced In Secret → 1 Samuel 17:34 to 35 Before David faced Goliath, he had already faced the lion and the bear. Before there was a battlefield, there was a flock. Before there was a public victory, there were private responsibilities. That matters because many people want God to use them publicly, but they despise the hidden places where God trains them privately. David’s courage had a history. His confidence was not empty. He remembered what God had already brought him through. 5️⃣ The Miracle Did Not Cancel The Training → 1 Samuel 17:49 God gave David the victory, but David still had to swing the sling. The miracle was God’s power, but the sling was David’s practiced obedience. David did not throw anything and hope something happened. He used what he had mastered. He aimed. He released. He acted. And God brought the giant down. Faith is not an excuse to be unprepared. Faith makes preparation meaningful because you are preparing under God’s authority. 6️⃣ One Stone Dropped Goliath, But Five Stones Revealed Readiness → 1 Samuel 17:50 The Bible says one stone brought Goliath down, but David still carried five. God only needed one, but David came ready. He did not know exactly how the battle would unfold. He did not know if he would need another stone. He did not know what Goliath would do after the first shot. But he was prepared. That is not doubt. That is wisdom. This is not just about David and Goliath. It is about the difference between faith and presumption. Faith says, “God is my victory, so I will obey.” Presumption says, “God is with me, so I do not need wisdom.” David brought five stones. God only needed one. Preparation does not weaken faith. It proves you believe the assignment is real.

BREAKING NEWS ON TRAVEL BAN: “Foreign doctors will be able to receive visas allowing them to practice in the United States, after the Trump administration quietly changed a policy to exempt them from a travel ban.” - New York Times This is a stunning reversal from the Trump administration after they realized just how much shortage of medical doctors there is in the US. More professions will follow. The US is finding out just how much they NEED skilled immigrants.

Fellow Nigerians, good morning. I woke up this morning after my church service with a deeply reflective heart, and despite every constraint, I felt compelled to share these thoughts with you. Many people do not truly understand the silent pains some of us carry daily—the private struggles, emotional burdens, and quiet battles we face while trying to survive and serve sincerely in difficult circumstances. We now live in an environment that has become increasingly toxic, where the very system that should protect and create opportunities for decent living often works against the people—a society where intimidation, insecurity, endless scrutiny, and discouragement have become normal. More painful is when some of those you associate with, believing you would find understanding and solidarity among them, become part of the pressure you face. Some who publicly identify with you privately distance themselves or join in unfair criticism. We live in a society where humility is mistaken for weakness, respect is seen as a lack of courage, and compassion is treated as foolishness—a system where treating people equally is questioned simply because you refuse to worship status, tribe, class, or power. Personally, I have never looked down on anyone except to uplift them. I have never used privilege, position, or resources to oppress others, intimidate the weak, or make people feel small. To me, leadership has always been about service, sacrifice, and helping others rise. Let me state clearly: my decision to leave the ADC is not because our highly respected Chairman, Senator David Mark, treated me badly, nor because my leader and elder brother, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, or any other respected leaders did anything personally wrong to me. I will continue to respect them. However, the same Nigerian state and its agents that created unnecessary crises and hostility within the Labour Party that forced me to leave now appear to be finding their way into the ADC, with endless court cases, internal battles, suspicion, and division, instead of focusing on deeper national problems and playing politics built more on control and exclusion than on service and nation-building. Even within spaces where one labours sincerely, one is sometimes treated like an outsider in one’s own home. You and your team become easy targets for every failure, frustration, or misunderstanding, as though honest contribution has become a favour being tolerated rather than appreciated. And when you choose to leave so that those you are leaving can have peace, and you step out into the cold, you are still maligned and your character is questioned. Despite all your efforts to continue working for a better Nigeria and engaging people with sincerity and goodwill, those who do not wish you well continue to attack your character and question your intentions. There are moments I ask God in prayer: Why is doing the right thing often misconstrued as wrongdoing in our country? Why is integrity not valued? Why is the prudent management of resources, especially when invested in critical areas like education and healthcare, wrongly labelled as stinginess? Why are humility and obedience to the rule of law often taken to be weakness rather than discipline? Let me assure all that I am not desperate to be President, Vice President, or Senate President. I am desperate to see a society that can console a mother whose child has been kidnapped or killed while going to school or work. I am desperate to see a Nigeria where people will not live in IDP camps but in their homes. I am desperate for a country where Nigerian citizens do not go to bed hungry, not knowing where their next meal will come from. Yet, despite everything, I remain resolute. I firmly believe that Nigeria can still become a country with competent leadership based on justice, compassion, and equal opportunity for all. A new Nigeria is POssible. -PO

I am only responding to you because you mentioned my name. While I believe the scholar’s action is wrong and condemnable, it is important to first address the pastor’s provocative remarks that triggered the situation. The scholar’s statement, though unacceptable, did not occur in a vacuum and would not have been made without that initial provocation.

Rev. Ezekiel Dachomo has never threatened one person like this. Yet, you'll see Bashir and his goons attacking him day and night. Now, look at this. That Alex Babir guy was haunted like a terrorist simply for speaking against Christian Genocide. And there's this unfortunate son of that unfortunate religion threatening a pastor, and everyone is looking away. God will sha punish you people.

Pastor David Ogbueli has been speaking up for a long time. He is a Nigerian pastor who truly practices what he preaches and understands his mission. He doesn’t just talk - he actively gives his time, money, and resources to support people. At a recent Northern Missionary Summit, he donated over ₦200 million to missionaries in Northern Nigeria to help build schools and hospitals, and he is still doing more. There are also many other pastors quietly doing great work like this. These are things you may not see on social media. May God bless and protect Pastor David Ogbueli and all the pastors working faithfully behind the scenes.

The reason I didn’t comment on the Jos crisis earlier was because I was waiting for accounts from residents or eyewitnesses. How is the Jos crisis being labeled a religious conflict? In Kano and other northern states with more Muslims than Christians, Muslims are not overrunning Christians, so why Jos? Let’s address this for what it is: insecurity. The government has failed in its responsibility to protect us. May the souls of the deceased rest in peace.

🚨 JUST IN: Victor Osimhen, Alex Iwobi, Wilfred Ndidi, Ademola Lookman and other Super Eagles players are unhappy after returning to Nigeria. Sources say that after their last AFCON game against Egypt, the team gave about $750,000 (₦1.2 billion) to the state government to help renovate Godswill Akpabio International Stadium. The money was meant to fix things like LED advertising boards, scoreboard, floodlights, dressing rooms, and the pitch. However, the players were disappointed because these upgrades have not started over the past few months.
