Last week was another reminder that climate impacts are accelerating — and adaptation is now a survival imperative. It’s time for leaders to invest in scaling these solutions and protect the people most exposed to rising risks. #Adapt2Win #COP30NoPará

Less than 10% of climate finance goes to adaptation — a missed opportunity with real consequences. The message is clear: adaptation finance must be prioritized at COP30. #Adapt2Win #COP30NoPará #ClimateFinance

Africa Pavilion | COP30 Accelerating Adaptation Action: Increasing Climate Finance for Low-Income African Countries PACJA joined African leaders and partners today at the Africa Pavilion to advance a clear message: Africa’s adaptation agenda cannot move without predictable, accessible, and just climate finance. Speakers underscored the widening gap between Africa’s climate vulnerabilities and the resources available to address them — a gap made worse by slow financing mechanisms, rising debt burdens, and persistent under-delivery from developed countries. The conversation reinforced three priorities: • Finance that reaches frontline communities, not intermediaries • Governance reforms to make global climate finance faster and fairer • Recognition of Africa’s ecological contributions and the need for reparative justice PACJA continues to amplify these demands at COP30, pushing for outcomes that reflect Africa’s realities and protect those most affected by climate impacts. #AfricaCOP30 #PACJA #ClimateJustice #AdaptationFinance #AfricaPavilion #ClimateAndEconomicJustice

Every athlete knows —when you’re outmatched, you adapt. Climate change demands the same mindset.  At #COP30, we can invest in #climateadaptation — protecting people, communities, and ecosystems. Leaders, it’s your move. #Adapt2Win

🟡As noted by @lulaofficial, climate change is already disrupting our food systems. Without real adaptation finance, farmers & communities can’t cope. To safeguard our forests and secure our food, equity & resilience, #COP30 must deliver on #ClimateAction. #GoodFood4All

Adapt2win: When Champions Turn Climate Warriors  As the world sprints toward COP30 in Belém, Brazil, one unlikely front has emerged in the race against climate change, and that is sport.  It’s where flooded football pitches, melting ski slopes, and parched running tracks tell a story no scoreboard can capture.  And it’s where the new global campaign, Adapt2Win, is rallying athletes to use their star power to push for serious action on climate adaptation.  Full story: bit.ly/4qXidiD @adapt2win_org

Climate adaptation is not optional. Superstar athletes around the world are making this message clear ahead of @Cop30noBrasil—and I’m proud to join them. Surfers, sailors, basketball players, and more have united behind the global @adapt2win_org campaign. Footballers, including Brazil’s Tamires Dias, England’s Raheem Sterling, and Nigeria’s Kenneth Omeruo, recently spoke to @Reuters about their decision to join Adapt2Win and climate change’s impact on their careers and communities alike. Climate shocks are only increasing—investing in resilience now is essential. The upcoming #COP30 conference is a pivotal moment. Farmers and communities that depend on successful harvests for their lives and livelihoods need every voice in their corner, and I’m thrilled athletes are using their platforms to call for immediate action. Malaria loses when adaptation wins. 🦟 In Cameroon, innovators are adapting and using weather data to predict and prevent outbreaks — saving lives and driving growth. In the lead-up to #COP30, we’re shining a light on @adapt2win_org, who are calling on leaders to close the adaptation finance gap and invest in solutions that help communities thrive.
