Nigerians must continue to pray that someone like myself never makes it to Aso Rock as President. I am telling you now, the very first thing I will do is place heavy restrictions on religion. Pastors will be required to obtain a permit from the State House before they can operate, and that permit will be renewed every year. Their sermons will be closely monitored, and any preacher who dares to say what my government has not approved will instantly have his permit revoked. His church, which, by law, will not be allowed to hold more than thirty people at a time (if the thirty-first shows up, he will be instantly remanded in a psychiatric ward), will immediately be converted into a science institute, a public library, or a government re-education center. The pastor himself will be sent to a state-run institution for reorientation, where he will remain until he shows clear signs of accepting the worldview of the state before he is allowed to return to society.

I agree with many of the things Sunday Oliseh said: from the social media mob enabling Victor Osimhen into what he has become, to Nigeria’s contented lack of ambition in exaggerating third place prize. But I disagree, completely, on the Lookman case. Oliseh seems to have forgotten that we played Algeria first after that incident and Lookman had a “good” game before Chelle met his expected albatross in Morocco. Akor Adams was probably our worst player vs Morocco, was he also affected by the Osimhen matter? Whereas Bruno Onyemaechi who was at the centre of the Osimhen matter went on to have brilliant outings in the following games.
