@adeheaton @domhowson 1991 was our last trophy (nobody counts play off trophies) that’s our rich history, no silverware in 35 years, no top flight games in 26 years. It’s gonna take 8-10 years of investment before we’re even close to challenging for the playoffs, we’re nowhere near the value of £48m

To them we’re a league 1 club with a terrible squad, a stadium needs vast work/replacing, regardless of 1991’s cup win we’re not a straight forward acquisition, that’s what he’s saying

@chrisma5on @domhowson I didn't name a price that I think the club is worth . I am fully aware of the debts and investment required. Simon Jordan and you are belittling a great football club which despite what has gone on, in some aspects is priceless.

@adeheaton @domhowson The badge only has relevance to the fans, not an investor. You wouldn’t pay 3x the value for a watch because they were good watches a long time ago and in recent years have been terrible, would you? Charles has been unlucky, but regardless he’s injured a lot, it affects value

@chrisma5on @domhowson They are buying the badge, the name .. and by the way we are 13th most successful club in England. Pierce Charles is not 16 . And has been unlucky. They are buying potential and a guaranteed fan base .. not many clubs like ours come up for sale very often .

@adeheaton @domhowson Nobody is buying the history, league cup in 91 and no top flight games since 2000 isn’t really a selling point. We’re not a £48m club, the stadiums a shithole and our only asset is a 16yr old keeper who can’t play 3 games without getting injured, were not very attractive

I honestly don’t think any bid will avoid it. The club as it stands is not worth the amount required. But pressure is mounting on the EFL to use their discretionary powers. From bidders themselves & figures like David Blunkett & Clive Betts.
