I went visiting my younger sister in her secondary school hostel last week, and we were discussing the difficulty with sending her money nowadays. In that childlike curiosity of hers, she asked a simple question which - although ridiculous - opened up a teaching moment for me.

This is a gentle reminder to Nigerians that the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria has a Non-Interest Mortgage Loan called Rent-To-Own (Ijaarah Muntahiya Bitamleek), a product created by the former MD, @Arch_Dangiwa. Interested Nigerians can apply and own a house on a Rent-to-own basis. All you need is a steady income from formal or informal sector to move in and pay on continuous basis (subject to terms of the loan) until the principal is repaid while paying rent (inclusive in the monthly or quarterly deductions). This comes in handy when the Assembly passes law allowing pension managers to grant 5-year long contributors access to their balances as equity contribution for a mortgage loan. See below step by step guidelines on the RTO Mortgage Loan.

@sugabaddie Most importantly, poor mentally, not just financially. Couldn’t agree more. This plays out everyday. The brand of religion plays into this “underdog must win irrespective” scenario.

The very precise moment I became an unrepentant elitist and stopped having empathy for the poor, was in the aftermath of the December 10, 2005 Sosoliso plane crash that killed 10% of my entire school (LJC) and poor people said it served us right for flying children instead of bus

This was July 8, 2022. It was the day of my matriculation at the University of Oxford. I’m sharing this for a purpose. You see, beneath that white shirt and black skirt were 26 surgical pins used to stitch up my lower abdomen. Not forgetting the blood and liquid that oozed...

One hell of a year but “God did”. Thank you to every single soul who gave me their time, love, sweat, resources, care and concern. You know you didn’t have to, you could have made excuses but you came through for me, yes you, I am grateful!!!
