It's a farewell message. At least to my bored ape, because I've just sold it for 5.8 ETH after 3.5 years (bought it for 95 ETH in June 2022). Do I regret it? No. Did I make money on it? Also, no. Am I happy? Wrong question. I wasn't emotionally attached to it. See, for a moment it did its job for me, during the last bear market 2022 - losing less money than bitcoin. But then - like with many other cryptos/nfts during the last bull cycle 2023-2025 - instead of rising in value, it fell. From financial standpoint, it's just one of (many) wrong choices. It simply joins the hall of fame of my bad takes - there are plenty. Not a big deal. At this stage, I'm emotionally numb to making errors. And will I make more mistakes? I can guarantee you that. Look, I have nothing but best intentions and wishes for everyone else holding onto theirs still. Generally, I met some cool folks there - they know who they are. To the new owner - congratulations, you've probably made a much better (or much less worse) financial decision than I did. Hope it serves you well. With what I write next can trigger many who may disagree - especially BAYC holders. But that's my point - I'm hoping to inspire some discussion. >>> NOTE TO THE LEADERSHIP @BoredApeYC <<< Thanks for your creative brains. I think you can do much better - as a team. Some of you are talented leaders who could easily succeed in their own ventures. So, fact you keep working together is meaningful. Looking at the opportunity cost created in the process - it's gigantic and not addressed efficiently. Tons of wasted potential which I have a personal take on (maybe mistaken). And we're not talking about some poorly funded project but one that was selling a million $ an ape back in the day (and there's 10,000 of them) with world's biggest stars aboard. Put simply - I don't think you can continue running only off of nostalgia and apefest anymore. Creatives is not a problem here, but it seems that's the only solution effectively applied. If you paint an empty box and put nice stickers on it, it's still empty inside. Every apefest I attended was cool - I don't say that lightly (read on). But the last one? I absolutely did not even care to go - that's new. BAYC is a business, right? So, I attempted multiple times to speak with anyone though there was no one to listen or answer to me. FOR YEARS. As a BAYC owner running several successful ventures, I felt ignored. And that's my problem - one I paid $100,000 for. But it spotlights a bigger issue - I dare say a root cause. That very resistance. It is completely unnecessary It's artificially created problem BAYC is facing IMO. As a result, there's no follow through on anything tangible. And it's clearly a choice. You simply chose not to do anything about many opportunities. You seem either overly selective or blocked. If so, then is being overly selective helpful? Let's use me as a case study: I'm not difficult to catch. Plus I was literally blinded on apefest. So if that was not enough to get your attention, what about all the other folks without audience but who got great value to offer while no one bothers to speak with them? They should get your attention. Lack of it is a reason why it all could have got so much bigger but it didn't. It all starts with having a conversation. My recommendation is that you speak with community - actually. And then maintain it. Because if that's a relationship business, then if you visit your grandma once a year for 10min to say whats up and go, then do you REALLY care? Either way, since you seem to have big conviction in where you're going, I'm hoping my experience will inspire some positive talk. I'm genuinely hoping for the best outcomes. Also, I chose to open a new chapter with it. Much stronger, better, powerful one. I've been cooking really hard. It's almost time for the world to see. Can't wait to show it to you. It's my new era. And it's flipped my life upside down. I've locked myself in my office for the last several days. Delved fully into (mu imperfect attempts at) deep work and game of full concentration on one big focus and removing all distractions. I'm intentional about how I use apps now - most of them are either deleted, snoozed, time-blocked, hidden or turned off notifications. As of Jan 24, I've read 5 books last 16 days and got a pile of next 20 looking at my from behind my desk - I'm gonna eat them alive in no time. From February onwards, I'm changing how we've worked for the past 8 years with @TheBirbNest. That involves all stakeholders - including you reading this at this moment (thanks for sharing your precious time with me), and also our clients, community, partners, prospects, products. I've been cooking so hard past days with full mind clarity I'd never had before. I absolutely can't wait to share it with you all here. Gigantic restructuring is in works with first release coming out soon. I hope you're gonna love benefiting from these changes as much as I've loved creating them for you. If you're still here, I salute you. Raise your hand so I know who's serious about 2026🖐️
