@adhamelshazly96 A vast body of literature exists on "Ādāb al-Baḥth wa-l-Munāẓara" within Islamic thought. This literature has recently been the subject of several in-depth secondary studies.

What's recent work on the ethics/epistemology of conversation? I know of Daniela Dover's work and some others in ancient philosophy. But is there any particular literature taking shape?

@adhamelshazly96 Kant has some beautiful passages in the metaphysics of morals on conversations with friends, on which I'm currently working. Rae's paper 'Love and Solipsism' picks up on the theme and passages. (It's a great paper too!)

For instance, the @OxAct4Pal open letter currently has only 4/371 signatories affiliated with philosophy. I would otherwise suppose this is a conservatism about student protests and mobilisation, where it not for the loud and long silence on the issue many of us have noticed

It's alarming, though perhaps not surprising, how very few academic philosophers have expressed solidarity with the student action for Palestine, or have been vocal about the situation at all since it started

One of the weirdest things about contemporary liberal so-called democracies is all the moralising one has to put up with when criminal political decisions are justified. War, migration, campus repression, you name it. As if they think we're all idiots, who can't spot propaganda.
