Modern interactions are increasingly app-reliant and often network-heavy (e.g., smart device controls, restaurant menus), which can pose a barrier to access. Frappe enables the rapid prototyping of lightweight mobile UIs that can be deployed without any network connection. (2/3)

My first CHI paper, "Toucha11y: Making Inaccessible Public Touchscreens Accessible," won an Honorable Mention award at #CHI2023! Toucha11y is a small robot that lets blind users use otherwise inaccessible public touchscreens by physically registering touch events on the kiosks.

In this work, we introduce automated hand-based spatial guidance -- an interaction technique which allows visually impaired users to reach targets on surfaces using their hands automatically, without the need for interpreting directional audio/haptic cues. #accessibility (2/2)
