Percentages make no sense for tipping. I go to a restaurant and order a $20 steak. Guy at the table next to me orders a $100 steak. If I tip $5 I’m considered a great tipper, but he’s expected to tip at least $20. Why? The server literally did the same amount of work!

@ronrule It has to to do with the the overall sales and the tip out percentage the server gives to the other staff. Your server will tip out his runners, expo, bartender and in some cases BOH. So if you tip out $5 on a $20 bill chances are he’s keeping about 2-2.50 of that tip
