My #COVID19 site will not be updated until tomorrow, but I wanted to walk through some plots from St. Louis's hospitalization data release today. These are the most detailed, up-to-date in-patient data we get in MO. We're getting new patients at the fastest rate of the pandemic.

@KLothPhD @UMNews @umnmedschool Therefore, to be able to get my work done, I will have to shell out extra thousands of dollars at a time when we aren't getting raises and our retirement benefits have been cut. I'm trying to keep in mind that I'm lucky to have a job and enough disposable income for this.

@KLothPhD @UMNews @umnmedschool I need: 1) someone to come to my house and get my kids to do their school work so that I can do my own work; 2) a private and pleasant place to work in my home. We are paying >$4000 out of pocket to have work done on our home for #2 and will probably end up paying for #1, too

Brown School staff and faculty have put together social justice and advocacy resources that offer insights about how to engage in this work during a pandemic. Although not exhaustive, we hope it helps during this time of crisis: bit.ly/2Xu0Aey. #BrownSchoolUnited

Mark your calendars for two weeks... increasing case counts from #missouri Memorial Day gatherings that turn into #covid super spreader events will be something to watch for. Lake of the Ozarks would be high (top?) on my list of possible places for this to happen.

Can you tell coronavirus fact versus fiction? Three epidemiologists from the Brown School - Associate Professors Kim Johnson and Alexis Duncan, with Assistant Professor Christine Ekenga - weigh in and separate truth from myth. bit.ly/39xjxj9 #epidemiology #publichealth

Kind of amazing that I have my annual faculty review today, but what kept me up in the night was worries about grocery shopping.

As students ease into a new normal, a recent book by Brown School Associate Professor Jenine Harris can make online statistics classes a bit more accessible. bit.ly/2y9FzeT #statistics #publichealth

i. just. can't. i can't homeschool a 4, 8 and 10yo, teach 2 college classes online, remotely run my lab, concentrate on manuscripts and grant proposals, and innovate. while i'm also just worried all the time about my 76-yo mom who lives alone on the other side of the country.
