It's worth remembering though that, according to reports, Bayern only got to him after... Alonso, Nagelsmann and Rangnick turned them down... Palace blocked an approach for Glasner... they tried to reverse their decision to fire Tuchel... they held talks with Hansi Flick before he joined Barcelona... they approached Emery but he chose to stay at Villa... they even considered Lopetegui before he took the West Ham job. He was FAR from 1st choice. But it's also worth noting that after Burnley were relegated in 23/24 with 24 points, not a single Premier League club was considering appointing him. That's because in this country we are OBSESSED with every manager's last job, were they a "success" or "failure." Failing to consider the bigger picture of circumstance, recruitment and stylistic fit. Bundesliga clubs are willing to look beyond their most recent job!
