Seeing the tornado warning for Eads is bringing back memories from the Hokie Storm Chase in 2021. This was a tail-end Charlie that made for an absolutely magnificent sunset there 3 years ago. Still have this as my home screen background. #cowx

Since 2006, Maryland has seen at least two tornadoes per year. Zero tornadoes reported in 2005.

Worth noting that Maryland is no stranger to tornadoes.
The last time MD saw a tornado was an EF0 that occurred near Fallston Airport on 4/22/23.
Another interesting note: MD has not seen a tornado with a magnitude > EF2 since the EF scale became operational in 2007. #mdwx

Officers and detectives are on scene investigating a train crash at Accotink Park Rd in Springfield. Preliminarily, one adult and two children were struck by a train while walking on the tracks. All were declared deceased on scene.
