@NoMoreBikeLanes In 2021, Hoboken had 21 pedestrian injuries, 18 cyclist injuries, and 51 motorist injuries. Compare these injuries and the zero fatalities to the similarly sized Crown Heights in Brooklyn in 2021, which had three fatalities, and over 400 injuries in total, the same year!

In Hoboken, by 2024, they built 47 rain gardens to not only mitigate flooding, some of the largest of which can detain up to 26K gallons of rainwater, but also to double as curb extensions as part of their Vision Zero efforts! Hoboken hasn't had a traffic death since 2017!

Hoboken also built resiliency parks, designed to store a combined total of over 4 million gallons of stormwater runoff! Expanding their sewer system's capacity. A pump station allows water to be collected underground in a cistern and then pumped out to the Hudson River.

Also 58 percent of the journeys at Yaphank being intra-island makes a lot of sense because of the set-to-be-closed station being surrounded by Suffolk government offices. Will be interesting to see if the percent changes in 2026.

Me increasing the intra-island ridership at Medford to 41% in 2024 💪 at least for weekends I was the majority ridership due to volunteering at the Riverhead railroad museum!
The second-least used LIRR stop deserves more love, hoping for electrification to Yaphank!

Intra-Island travel is another little and often overlooked market that has been growing a ton the last few years... In 2024, intra-Island travel exceeded 2019 by almost 300k trips. There are now 31 stations where intra-Island travel accounts for more than 10% of journeys.
