@fdellaert At the risk of not reading more papers, I do want to ask how would one repurpose this to obtain a resource allocation problem. To be very honest, I haven't read much papers in this space, operating out of a basic understanding of how to play around with GPs.

@fdellaert Thank you for your reply. I had a quick skim of your 2018 paper on "Continuous-time Gaussian process motion planning via probabilistic inference" and I can already see a formalized version of what I was trying to verbalize.

@fdellaert I'm not sure exactly if your post fully or in any way reflects my ideation here, but I really found it uncanny that I thought about non uniform time intervals and how it could be resolved hierarchically in time and state in GPs and here I saw a similar idea being discussed.

@fdellaert locking up on bumpy surfaces, but the one who is able to manage that and also allocate resources on getting speed into the corner is who will be fast. I think a future where you actively scale up/down on dilation as an allocation problem could bring actionable behavior in robots.
