The people who worked on the game model should be happy that I think most of us agree the Slop Filter is ridiculous and the real model is the only thing we want. Really thought this was an early April Fool’s joke but here we are lmao

A lot of us are sick of seeing filters and AI tools used as a one size fits all solution to ‘improve’ visuals for games, people, pictures, movies. Things are less real as a results, imperfections and limitations aren’t the devil; sameness and fakeness are what we don’t want.

Not to mention even if the environment lighting and effects make them look more realistic, the animations and stuff of the objects populating the world don’t change so it has the chance to make everything stick out weird as fuck. This is gonna be like the TV soap opera filter

If blasting up the brightness and sharpness makes it appear more photorealistic then no thanks. Scenes with curated lighting should always be preferred especially when one method only works on some machines, I don’t know why you’d want to trust an AI model to enhance lighting

PSA: there are no ‘missable (as in can’t get it later)’ or mistakes you have to careful to avoid in MHStories 3. The hyperbolic YouTube video titles is a slap in the face given how well they designed the game like this. Algorithm this and that, I get it, but has to be said!

Not to mention just doing some auto-enhance filter like effect will change lighting and feel of a scene. What if the intention of a scene is to be muddled? Making everything bright and ‘(AI slop) realistic) isn’t what people even care about we want better performance if anything

I’ll clarify, yes I know it’s the same character model what I mean is we don’t want some filter over-processing shit so that it doesn’t look or feel the same. We are fine with limits with tech we just want the art that is created and curated with it in mind.

They have some very smart ideas to ensure performance is fabulous, like respawning roaming Pokemon and letting you instantly call using honey. The interactions are genuinely fun to watch, and security cameras reveal how real time the entire map is at all times (so impressive!)

The Cloud Island in Pokopia is one of the best implementations of multiplayer I could have wished for, it had been really fun playing together and we have had zero hiccups. Being able to go back to our single player games and take photos of items to 3D print is awesome ^^
