@cwebbonline @foodgod Because Bass’ administration has been so great? How’s her track record been? Same with Ramen. Running on banning BBQ’s? Get a grip. Pratt resonates because average people are tired of the homeless situation in CA. It’s a choice.

@foodgod You’re an idiot if you think Spencer Pratt has any idea on how to run a government in the second city in America. He has no plan.

You’re right this city is a fucking dump. How dumb are you people in LA? How fucking stupid can you possibly be to finish off the NICE city in America like how fucking low IQ can you possibly be worrying about where somebody lives instead of the filth and the garbage going on.
Christopher Webb@cwebbonline

Spencer Pratt, SAVE LA? Dude is trying to save his own personal brand for a “Mayor” reality show he already agreed to film, even though he hasn’t won anything. Now there’s a mystery campaign van cruising LA while voters are supposed to believe the trailer park storyline, even though he’s living at the Bel-Air Hotel. This city is not a reality show.

@Alt_Azn @lalovestrump American socialists have successfully conflated law and order with fascism. More chaos allows for more reliance on state/municipal government.

@BounceRoccSkate The homeless are a massive problem. Tolerating it is a choice. Los Angeles doesn’t have to live like this.

LA was next level dangerous in the 90s and early 2000s. People forget how bad it really was. LA is safer now than it’s ever been. The only reason people feel otherwise is cause homeless people are more visible. That’s literally it.
big tobacco theorist@no_one__wins

LA when I was a kid was considerably more dangerous, they used to say don’t be at echo park lake past dark, now there’s swan boats, people used to be jumped into gangs on our front lawn, kids in my class died in drive by’s, if anything LA got too safe and people lost perspective

@Sandiegohumor Enough with the public transportation bullshit. The high speed rail project was such a waste of time and money. Better allocated in other areas.

California transportation officials are exploring a concept for high-speed buses that could travel up to 140 mph on dedicated freeway lanes. The proposed statewide network could connect major regions including Sacramento, the Bay Area, Los Angeles, and San Diego through express bus service and purpose-built transit hubs. One scenario discussed by planners estimated a San Francisco-to-Los Angeles trip could take about 3 hours and 12 minutes at roughly 120 mph. The idea is still in the study/concept stage, not an approved project.

Los Angeles mayoral candidate Spencer Pratt responded to a report this week that he has been staying at the Hotel Bel Air, rather than the trailer he previously said he was living in after losing his home in the Palisades Fire last year. abcnews.link/C030eDc

@DocStrangelove2 I don’t think they’re going to end up recovering these bodies. The 5 perished divers put themselves in an incredibly dangerous and illogical dive plan. Open water dive at 160 feet followed by a cave penetration more than 150 in length is insane.

@Snakeeater36 160 on air is wild. They were probably narc’d out of their minds. Also, doubt any were cave certified or had the appropriate equipment to penetrate a cavern environment. Like you said, bottom time is practically zero. Ultimately a deco dive on alum 85’s. They were so fucked.

Your bottom time on a 160ft cave dive, with conventional open circuit, even with twin 80s is not going to be long. Add in….caves, disorienting surroundings and panic, and i can see why this happened. Real talk, I have dove…. A lot, and for what it’s worth I’m a dive master. And I will never….fucking EVER go cave diving. Especially at this fucking depth.

the CATO Institute.. a libertarian think tank funded by the Koch brothers.. just published a study showing immigrants paid more in taxes than they received in benefits every single year from 1994 to 2023.. not a left-wing university.. not a Democratic PAC.. the Koch brothers' own research institute.. they reduced the deficit by $14.5 trillion over 30 years.. they earn less per hour but work at higher rates.. which means higher per capita income.. which means higher taxes paid.. the country spent 30 years being told immigrants were draining the system.. turns out they were funding it.. and the people who told you that knew the numbers the whole time
Leading Report@LeadingReport

Immigrants generate more income and taxes than the average person, per CATO Institute.

Final thoughts on San Diego. Elite city, but it’s still no NYC. If you put someone in NYC, from San Diego they wouldn’t thrive as much the other way around. If you excel in NYC, you can literally go anywhere and crush it.
