Making headlines this time only cos there is a war. Those who wish bad for Pakistan are presenting it as if we are violating sanctions

Another thing is that in Sixties Ministers and Government High Officials travelled by Rail. Ayub Khan mostly did . I was his ADC . Consequently high standard was maintained and Services were remarkable . All attention now is towards Personal Aeroplanes

It would be a big win for Pakistan, if Pakistan can negotiate the ability to trade with Iran. Convince Iran to barter. Basically get the same privilege as India.

The overload of containers on our ports is an opportunity and we are wasting it. Jebel Ali is under fire. The world’s biggest carriers are fleeing the Gulf and the first time in decades, Karachi is the only credible transshipment port in the region. We did not earn this. We have by luck stumbled onto it. And our response? DISCOUNTS. A very competent team wrote & built Pakistan’s transshipment rules in 2021. We pushed the FBR, built the framework, pressed Hutchison to activate SAPT’s deep water berths as per their concession agreement. Then the government changed and it all gathered dust, like many other historic projects started in our tenure. FYI for all, Al-Faw Port in Iraq opens in 2026, with a capacity to handle 3.5M TEUs at launch with direct rail to Europe, bypassing Suez entirely. The window between Jebel Ali’s disruption and Al-Faw’s rise is narrow and we are wasting it with discounts and rebates. This is not strategy.
