I’ve been through posts from the teams who played yesterday to see how they’re putting fans at the front of their content. The criteria for a post to class as #FanFirstContent was just for fans to be the sole focus. I decided it wasn’t enough for a post to talk about fans but not feature any in the photos or videos attached. This is obviously skewed based on the number of games, as well as whether teams were home or away, so I know it’s not 100% reflective. It was still interesting. For example, only 1 Premier League team posted anything I’d class as fan-first. Plenty said thanks to the fans, but showed players applauding rather than highlighting the people who were there. The one team that did, however, posted one of the best things I’ve seen on a match day in a while. Might do this again in a few weeks. I’m also going to do another day where I look specifically at pre-match information for fans, such as travel guides etc. Everything I found is in the thread below, and on the hashtag #FanFirstContent.
