This is a genuine question Anyone wanna start a DNB/Jump up duo with me where I make all the music behind closed doors, and then you can be the DJ, go on tour, get all the fame, be the Instagram model and social media personality? I know this reads a lil meme-ish but it isn’t.

@afghanheadspin "Get Down" is such a banger: I really like the bass in the track. Keep up the good work! :D

@meldrumbass nowadays people prefer to have 200k plays on Spotify than being supported by major DJs and that resumes the state of music in general

@armodinemusic @meldrumbass DJ's are all in a spat about sync or not to sync whilst the crowd has no interest, they just want jump about. Sync just means faster, allowing time to be more creative, and put more tracks in the mix. Most DJs are producers anyways, all they want to do is showcase their tracks!

I guess everyone here has heard about the "graveyard of second drops." And it's not about streaming services. It's about the most common way DJs deliver tracks nowadays. The audience loves teasers and fast mixing. Plus, with modern technologies like warping, quantizing, beat jumps, and pre-marked tracks in record box, DJs don't need any intros/outros. Essentially, producers release exactly what the dancefloor would hear anyway. Anything that would have been added in an extended version for 6+ minutes will still be left behind the closed fader by the DJ.

The @metpoliceuk is so far from fit for purpose it’s terrifying. The heavy-handed and totally disproportionate treatment this woman received (in front of her distressed and bewildered young son) was for suspected bus fare evasion, to the tune of £1.75 1/2

Does electronic music is now more based on 'fame' than 'talent'. It seems there is more unskilled people pushed to the front than the ones who deserve it. Even in Drum & Bass.
