@PeteMC666 I legit have this planned out in my head. I want a (quality) cinematic adaptation of my first book, which is high fantasy. And then the second book and its sequel (steampunk fantasy), should have graphic novel adaptions because the mood is perfect for the medium.

@rosamundhodge I'd also like to point out that there are only 2 (if I remember correctly) human stem cell lines in use for this kind of research, & both of them come from separate abortions in the 60s (? I need to find the video). 1/2

@rosamundhodge help you live longer and better yadda yadda yadda. But very few (or no) ads about how to live a *good* life. I honestly think that it's more indoctrinated than anything. And it succeeds because we're afraid. And because we're afraid, we don't want to ask the hard questions.

@rosamundhodge OK, I had (another) thought. Are we *really* not wired to think about our own imminent demise or is it just that society has trained us to not think to carefully about mortality? Let's face it, there are ads for "fountains of youth" and procedures and diets to supposedly 1/2

This is a silly headline and you have to be pretty dang sheltered to think that most people on earth never think about death, but it’s also an essay by a woman who just realized her mortality for the first time, so I don’t wanna dunk too hard? That’s rough whenever it happens.

Also? I spent nearly 15 years helping care for my dad, who was slowly dying from ALS. I was in the room when he went home. Mortality isn't something...new. I mean, have you seen this world?!?

@rosamundhodge On a tangent: countless people who suffer from mental illness face their mortality everyday, those w/ depression at risk of suicide, w/ eating disorders that have damaged major organs, w/ schizophrenia & homeless on the streets. Plenty of folks didn't need covid to remind them
