What is a Randomized Controlled Trial and how is it important in health care? In a Randomized Controlled Trial (RCT), a large group of participants is randomly selected and then randomly divided into two groups: a treatment group and a control group.

The treatment group receives the intervention (e.g., a new drug), while the control group receives a placebo or standard care.
