Do you hesitate to give money to people on the street b/c you think they’ll just buy drugs with it? Or that somehow giving them a few dollars enables them to stay homeless/addicted/struggling? It is possible they’ll use it to buy drugs. But maybe you helped them take a break from what they usually do to buy those drugs - like survival sex trade work. Obviously, no one is ever obligated to hand over their hard-earned money. I know when I give a few bucks to people they’re grateful and it gives them hope … which makes me feel good, so I'll just keep doing that 🙂
