Claude Code wiped our production database with a Terraform command. It took down the DataTalksClub course platform and 2.5 years of submissions: homework, projects, and leaderboards. Automated snapshots were gone too. In the newsletter, I wrote the full timeline + what I changed so this doesn't happen again. @GrahamStephan I think we should leave the big boys play aside, focus on the reality, I setup openclaw on a Mac mini, and I can just text it from my phone to do stuff. And it does it - just like I would sitting on a computer. That can shake out a lot of people from jobs today.

This is CRAZY. It turns out Jack Dorsey's Block $XYZ spent $68 million on a single party in September 2025, roughly the annual payroll for 200 employees at $340,000 each. Then 5 months later, he laid off 4,000 people (40% of the company's workforce), citing AI and "intelligence tools" as a reason. Many people are speculating the real reason is poor planning and overspending, not AI.
