Rubryka - Solutions from Ukraine
🎉 Today, we mark 8 years of Rubryka, and thank you, our readers, partners, and friends, for supporting solutions journalism together with us! What started as a small team with a big idea has grown into a media platform that proves: solutions matter.

Rubryka has spent the past eight years telling people-powered stories — five of those years building a strong community around them. Here's how that community has grown, how you can support Rubryka today, and what it means to be part of it rubryka.com/en/article/spi…

For 8 years, Rubryka has believed media should do more than describe problems — it should also show solutions, agency, and what can actually work. Most of all, Rubryka became a community. 🫂 Support Rubryka: rubryka.com/en/donate/

Rubryka - Solutions from Ukraine
🚆💥 In the morning of March 8, a drone struck the Kyiv – Sumy train carrying about 200 passengers. Among them was Rubryka photojournalist Mykola Tymchenko, who was traveling to the Sumy region on a work trip. According to the Sumy Regional Prosecutor's Office, no one was injured. The strike damaged the locomotive, but passengers were able to reach their final destination with the help of another locomotive. Earlier in the morning, local media and Telegram channels also reported the damage and changes to train traffic, citing railway operational updates. Rubryka photojournalist Mykola Tymchenko, who was on board the train, documented the aftermath of the attack in photographs 📸

While I’m in a cold October Kyiv, my colleagues keep sending photos from Bonn — apparently I’m “watching over them” from every corner :)) Turns out I’m on the cover of the @bonninstitute magazine 👀 It’s a real honor: Bonn is hosting the annual and very important b° future festival of constructive journalism this week. And this year, it’s not only Rubryka sharing our experience — our Recovery Window media network is taking the stage for the first time. If you or your friends are at the festival, here are the sessions I highly recommend: 📍 October 3 — @RubrykaEng talk From Observers to Enablers: How Solutions Journalism Sparks Real-World Impact 📍 October 4 — #RecoveryWindow session Networking as an Infrastructure of Trust: How 130+ Partners United to Rebuild Ukraine During the War If you’re in Bonn — drop by, say hi, and tell us what resonated 🤍 #bfuture #ConstructiveJournalism #SolutionsJournalism #UkraineRecovery

Посилання: youtube.com/watch?v=sf724Y…

For the first time, independent media were part of the official conversation at #URC2025 Recovery Window, together with IMI, @UNESCO, and Ukraine’s Ministry of Culture, co-hosted a side event on why media are not optional — they are essential to recovery. 🟡 They rebuild trust. 🟡 They explain decisions & demand accountability. 🟡 They drive real change. While Russia invests $1.5B in disinformation, Ukrainian media keep working — under pressure, in crisis, but with purpose. That’s why we launched the Media Recovery Partnership Track — to unite those who believe media are critical to #Ukraine’s future. We’re not waiting for the window to open — #RecoveryWindow is building it.

Exactly 7 years ago, the first stories appeared on @Rubryka / @RubrykaEng website — first media in Ukraine in the format of solutions journalism. Since then, we've grown immensely — both as a team and as a media outlet, reaching millions of views monthly across our website and social media. At a time when Ukraine is being attacked on many fronts to break our spirit, we seek out and tell constructive stories — and show how people can take action to change things for the better. Thank you to everyone who has built this with us, who has read our work and supported us. Please share @RubrykaEng with your network, help us grow, and really needed gift for our team would be your donation: rubryka.com/en/donate/ Some photos over the years — from a team that believes in what we do and wants to keep finding solutions for many years to come, no matter what 💛💙

Among many pressures, independent Ukrainian media now face an existential threat after US funding was cut overnight. But by staying united and consolidated, we have the only chance to sustain our work and continue making a difference. Russia struck Kyiv with ballistic missiles overnight, causing destruction near the Lukianivska metro station. At least 4 people were killed, and 3 others injured. A damaged pipeline led to flooding, and debris fell in the Shevchenkivskyi district💔 🕯️ 📷 Rubryka

Rubryka - Solutions from Ukraine
Anastasiia Rudenko @afrudenko , editor-in-chief of Rubryka, and Vladyslav Faraponov @vlad_faraponov_ , the Chairman of the Board of the Institute of American Studies, took part in the Ukraine under Siege panel discussion at the winter festival of Stony Brook University (New York, USA). During the speech, Anastasiia talked about Rubryka, solutions journalism in Ukraine, as well as how Ukrainians find solutions even in the most difficult times of war ❤️‍🩹 They talked about the importance of supporting the psychological state of Ukrainians, especially children, the importance of telling people's stories, and why it is profitable for the USA to support Ukraine, using the examples of articles by @rubryka and @RubrykaEng Each such performance wins more friends for Ukraine. Thanks to the organizers for the opportunity to be heard!

Constructive and Inspiring Discussion at the Embassy of Ukraine in the USA with Ambassador @OMarkarova Together with @afrudenko a week ago, right before the election, we exchanged ideas with our Ambassador on further enhancing U.S.-Ukraine relations, not only at the federal and state levels but also at the grassroots level, which is critically important. As the head of the Institute of American Studies Ukraine's only dedicated organization focused on advancing U.S.-Ukraine partnerships, it was essential to align our perspectives with Ambassador Markarova on current and future projects. We agreed to strengthen our coordination to ensure more sustainable U.S. support for Ukraine, discussing ideas for institutionalizing international assistance. It’s vital for us to work on long-term solutions that will not only help Ukraine endure but also achieve victory. This will inevitably be the result of even closer and more productive collaboration between Ukraine 🇺🇦 and the USA🇺🇸.
