I made an app to roast your offer in 60 seconds. 🌶️ I built it because in the indie hacker community, I kept seeing founders ask: “Can someone roast my offer?” So I made a tool that scores your offer out of 210, names the leak, and writes the fix. Paste your landing page. Get the roast. Fix the offer. fixmyoffer.ai @shipordie_ @jackfriks @marclou

Day 8 of Ship and Die 🏴‍☠️ Today was mostly about working on the landing page + fixing a few things in the algo. I added more data, manually roasted a few websites to catch edge cases, and kept improving the output. Also, build in public is already bringing traffic. Peak at 45 visitors today after 5 days live, with the site only shared on X and still just one page. Now the goal is simple: convert, learn, improve, repeat

Day 7 — Ship or Die 🏴‍☠️ Almost no time to build today. That’s the reality of a side project when your 9-6 change to 8-8. Still, I moved the most important part forward: the algorithm behind the tool. It’s starting to produce insane insights. Especially on pricing. That’s where I can bring real expertise: not just “what price should I charge?” but why users buy, hesitate, compare, or leave. I’m feeding the model with my own frameworks and learnings every day. Tiny progress today. But the product got smarter.

google murdered firebase dynamic links. today i'm shipping redirectly v2. deferred deep linking that doesn't die with FDL, now built for teams that ship a lot. - orgs. all your apps under one roof. - projects. each gets its own subdomain, analytics, and api key. - members. invite teammates. scope every action (owner / admin / editor / viewer). - audit log. every rotation, every invite, every change. - one bill, every project. same one-SDK setup. same Flutter & React Native libraries. same "links that survive app installation" magic. now scoped for orgs and roles instead of a single user. sidenote: redirectly v1 was a solo tool. v2 is the version i wish i had the first time someone joined the team and started fighting over the shared dashboard. if you're shipping mobile, your deep links shouldn't be the bottleneck. ship links that don't die: redirectly.app GLHF, and don't let your links die with FDL.

@vadym_petryshyn Yes but I have one page, price directly on the button, and that would mean a 20% conversion rate. Honestly, I’d take that all day 😂

@jackfrist rejected my launch yesterday on @shipordie_ And honestly, he was right. So today I rebuilt the hero section and most of my landing page. v1 was just a simple form to ship fast. This is now closer to the real v2 (v1.5) Still need to add examples, but 2h before work + 2h tonight wasn’t enough. I hope to deploy the v2 tomorrow and on Friday! What do you think of this hero section? Feel free to review it and give me advise👇 fixmyoffer.ai

@marclou Bad free plans are the problem. Indie hackers often give away too much for free, but a well-designed free trial can be great for conversion.

Remove your free plan. Free users are leeches. They increase support, server costs, and make you build features your paying customers don’t want. Less than 3% of free users ever convert. VC startups can afford free plans because they’re optimizing for growth, not profit. If you’re an indie founder, never give away your product for free.

@JustJerry121 Exactly. The impact can be very different depending on the type of customers who churn. But that’s the point of the exercise, it forces you to ask the right questions, not just look at the churn number.

@afterhoursHB For a 2x test, who churns probably matters more than how many churn.

Why don’t you double the prices of your SaaS today? Have you actually thought about it? What would your current users say? Would new users still buy? Would your MRR grow even with fewer customers? Pricing is not just a number. It defines: → your positioning → your margins → your support load → your infrastructure cost → the type of customers you attract → how fast you can grow If you sell at 2x the price, you might need fewer users, less support, less infra… And your MRR could still explode. Most founders pick a price at the last minute. But pricing should be at the center of the business.

☠️❌ the crew rejected another startup @afterhourshb's startup Fix My Offer was sent back to port by @jackfriks. why: "launch post is decent, but noticed a few small wins/easy fixes on first glance at landing page before accepting the submission. 1: the landing page hero section is THE most important part, but yours is not 100% obvious that the main CTA is in it. see screenshot for reference, i scrolled right past the info fill in to the demo and didnt even realize it was a CTA until afterwards. - the site look super good and i love the style btw dont get me wrong there, i only think you want this one part as obvious as possible to avoid unnecessary drop off 2: the demo is okay, it had no audio so i got bored a bit - i say you can keep it but also i would love to see 3 example roasts (you can cherry pick even) your tool did on some popular sites or some easy to understand sites that have done well/ are awful to give a true example people can understand what value your tool has better keep shipping and see you soon in next review! best, jack" 🔎 fixmyoffer.ai fix it. resubmit. ship.

Day 6 — Ship or Die 🏴‍☠️ Today was all about distribution. I submitted my project to the Captains @marclou and @jackfriks , recorded my first demo video, and shared it. Now the focus is clear: distribution, improving the algo, and doing a lot of roasts over the next few days. So far, everything works pretty well. Also tried Reddit… banned in 5 minutes 😂 How do you guys post there without getting killed, even with no link or promo?

One question for founders building after hours... At what MRR do you stop trading evenings and weekends for your side project and start buying back your time from your 9-5? I'm not even talking about quitting completely. Just reducing your hours enough to give your business the attention it deserves. £1k MRR? £3k MRR? £5k MRR? £10k+ MRR? Everyone's situation is different, I wanna know where I compare to others. If you're still working a 9-5 while building something on the side, what's your target number and why? 👇

Curious to see how your landing page performs? I built a tool to score your offer, proof, pricing, positioning, and messaging: fixmyoffer.ai/?v=2 Drop your site below too, I’ll manually roast a few.

After reviewing a lot of early-stage SaaS landing pages, one thing is missing almost every time: Real social proof. A few tips: If you target B2B, don’t show B2C testimonials. Your audience needs to see people like them using your product. Add quantitative proof: - “I save 2 hours per day with X” - “We increased conversion by 18%” - “We reduced manual work by 40%” And if your SaaS is still new, use yourself as the proof. Show how you use your own product. Even better: record a short video of you using it.
