Happy to announce that on Weds. February 19th I was invested into the Order of Nova Scotia, the highest honour in the province, for my longstanding work as a scholar, author & community mobilizer. I'd like to thank Lt-Governor, Mike Savage, as well as my family and supporters.

As we prepare to say goodbye to Black History Month, a reminder that we should be learning and championing the diverse histories of Black Canadians every single day, including Black Canadian Muslims who contribute and enrich our country. A special shout out to the award-winning historian and poet Dr. @afuacooper , PhD and her brilliant daughter, award-winning author, Habiba Cooper Diallo who published a book called #BlackinSchool that shines important light on what it's like to be a young Black student. I am so inspired by Black excellence ⭐️ embodied by the incredible people I have been privileged to meet ❤️
