A joyous moment for every Indian! Chola Copper Plates dating back to the 11th Century will be repatriated to India from the Netherlands. Took part in the ceremony for the same in the presence of Prime Minister Rob Jetten. The Chola Copper Plates are a set of 21 large plates and 3 small plates and largely contain texts in Tamil, one of the most beautiful languages of the world. They relate to the great Rajendra Chola I formalising an oral commitment made by his father, King Rajaraja I. They also showcase the greatness of the Cholas. We in India are immensely proud of the Cholas, their culture and their maritime prowess. I thank the Government of the Netherlands and Leiden University in particular, where the Copper Plates were kept since the mid-19th century. @MinPres

Versterking van samenwerking in futuristische sectoren! Premier Rob Jetten en ik waren getuige van de ondertekening van de MoU tussen Tata en ASML voor de verdere ontwikkeling van het ecosysteem voor de productie van halfgeleiders in India. ASML zal de oprichting en schaalvergroting van de toekomstige halfgeleiderfabriek van Tata Electronics in Dholera, Gujarat, ondersteunen. De vooruitgang die India boekt in de wereld van halfgeleiders biedt enorme kansen voor de jeugd van ons land. Ik sprak over de mogelijkheid om zo snel mogelijk een stappenplan voor de defensie-industrie op te stellen. We kunnen ook samenwerken in sectoren zoals ruimtevaart, maritieme systemen en maritieme veiligheid. @MinPres

Addressed office bearers of trade organizations, industrialists, entrepreneurs, and members of the business community at the Future Kerala Business Conclave 2026, jointly organized by the National Traders’ Welfare Board and the Calicut Chamber of Commerce in Kozhikode, Kerala. Highlighted the business-friendly reforms and initiatives undertaken under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi ji towards strengthening trade, improving Ease of Doing Business, and empowering the business community, including customs duty relief in petrochemicals, reduction of compliance burden through the Jan Vishwas (Amendment of Provisions) framework, perpetual validity for FSSAI food licences, development of the Vizhinjam International Seaport at Thiruvananthapuram, and National Highway expansion to enhance logistics efficiency, tourism, industrial growth, and commercial activity across Kerala. Also elaborated on the role of the National Traders’ Welfare Board in supporting traders across the country, including the weekly VC interaction held every Monday (3–4 PM), which provides a platform for traders to raise suggestions and seek timely resolution of issues. The conclave also featured insightful presentations by Central Government officials on the maritime sector, cargo operations with Indian vessels, recent budget announcements relating to shipping and cargo manufacturing, and the expansion of Southern Railways to strengthen connectivity and economic growth across regions.
