It kills me that Optimus and Elita being at odds because OP will always value all lives equally regardless of specs and Elita will value cybertronians most because she was left alone for millions of years as cybertrons final defense is so GOOD and it was just. Fumbled

@docknockout Because it's a billion dollar IP that dominated pop culture but people who read some awful IDW comics want to pretend they're the main cultural milestone of the franchise as opposed to G1 or Bayverse for some reason so they have to act like IDW is still relevant.

Eh, that's what he is tho. Well, technically he came first but he's always been a redeco of the OG Diaclone Countach LP500S Super Tuning which became Sunstreaker in the west for G1. I'm fine with the master piece and missing link. Wish the Gen Selects had a non-translucent window though.

@fandompulse I don't understand when/how Elita-1 became so damned important. She was in, like, TWO episodes of the G1 cartoon (if you count Ariel) and most people completely forgot she existed until recently. Now she's in EVERYTHING.

@Kryptomightguy I blame all the parents and people who complained Prime was too dark which resulted in RID and all the subsequent series all being very kid-oriented and kiddy as a kneejerk reaction. The franchise never really recovered from that and One was no exception with how kiddy it looked

It sucks how the franchise used to take risk with really fresh and all-new takes that had a lot of creative effort put into them, but now they just want to constantly try to be Bay’s take over & over again instead of attempting something new. TF:O could have at least been that.

@zeta_tf Up until the recent drama I never heard anything at all about Skybound so I assume it was inoffensive and compete tent. On the flip side all I ever heard about IDW was how fanfictiony it was and basically only heard about how all the characters were gay or trans in it 🫥

Hot Take #119: I think one of the reasons part of the fandom despises the Skybound Transformers comics is that they show G1 still works, which goes against the whole narrative that people are sick of G1 and that the franchise needs to move further away from that identity. (1/2)
