1/ Here’s how I started an AI services business in February that’s now doing ~$5k/month on the side while still working full-time. No funding. No team. No coding background. Just consistency, curiosity, and putting myself out there. 🧵

Not everything with AI is magic. I used Shipper to build an MVP for an app idea, burned about $125, and mostly ended up with a UI shell and broken functionality. I exported the codebase into Codex + Cursor and now I’m rebuilding/fixing it piece by piece. Great learning lesson.

The brands and marketing departments that embrace this early are going to get dramatically more out of their budget over the next few years.

I was an outsider to the film industry. But I love movies. Used to watch a movie a day. Wrote a 120 page screenplay. And now I’m literally running a studio. Making movies. You can just do things.

@pt5films Absolutely. You just gotta go for it and build things that kind suck, until you start building things that are good. My first project was a tv show called The Hugh Jass Anomaly, 2-3 minute episodes posted to YouTube last year. Awful stuff 😂

The overhead on a one-person AI studio is a laptop, a bunch of subscriptions, and stubbornness. There are people raising $$$ to build what I'm building from my apartment. The difference isn't resources. It's willingness to start ugly & figure it out as you go.

14/ Still learning every day. Still building. Still figuring it out as I go. But that’s kinda the whole game right now. Hit me up if you have questions or if I can help.

13/ Biggest takeaway so far: We are still VERY early. Most businesses are nowhere close to fully adopting AI yet. There’s still a massive opportunity for people willing to learn, build, teach, and help businesses implement this stuff in the real world.

12/ Workshops are another huge opportunity. I’ve done one so far and plan to do a lot more. Most local businesses still have no idea where to start with AI. If you can explain it clearly and practically, opportunities open up fast.

11/ I also built ads and blueprints for free early on. Not forever. Just enough to get: • feedback • testimonials • reps • real-world case studies Momentum matters more than maximizing profit at the beginning.

10/ One of the biggest things I learned: Look the part. Create a professional system around your business early. Website. Proposal. Resources. Process. Even if you’re small, operate professionally.

9/ I also added an online assessment to my website. It gives business owners a starting point and helps qualify leads before conversations even happen. That single addition made the business feel much more real and professional.

8/ I started creating professional one-pagers and free resources using Moda. Guides. Blueprints. AI education. Workshops. A lot of businesses are curious about AI but overwhelmed by it. Educational content builds trust fast.

7/ My first client was a social media management company. That mattered more than the money. It created a connected local advocate who started talking about what we were building. Then came: • a church • a pharmacy • a restaurant • referrals People talk when you do good work.

6/ I stopped trying to sound technical. Most business owners do not care about AI jargon. They care about: • saving time • getting organized • better marketing • faster response times • growing revenue Simple wins.

5/ I started posting consistently on X and LinkedIn. I just recently added Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok. Honestly, if I started over, I would’ve pushed all 5 platforms from day one. Attention compounds.

4/ I built my website from scratch using Cursor. Then I started building other things for my own business too: • my own CRM • lead forms • AI assessments • automations • landing pages Partly to learn. Partly because I actually needed them.

3/ I spent about 30 minutes a day learning. That’s it. No expensive mastermind. No 8-hour grind sessions. Just daily reps stacking over time.

2/ I started by following people actually building in public on X. People like: • Corey Ganim • Jon Cheney • PJ Ace Not to copy them. Just to learn what was possible.
