Shavkat’s wife says they are now divorced. Gulayym Rakhmonova and her son were injured in a July 27, 2025 crash in Kazakhstan in which two women died.
Under Kazakhstan law, a court may postpone or mitigate the execution of a sentence if someone legally qualifies as a single parent caring for minor children.
