Gone are days of loud crypto shirts and flip-flops. They have been replaced by tailored suits, business attire, and a predominantly more institutional crowd.
The atmosphere on at @WebX Japan was serious, polished, and focused on building rather than hype.
Strikingly, there were not many panels dedicated to bitcoin or crypto price predictions.
Attendees spent the day discussing tokenization, stablecoins, prediction markets, and regulatory policy.
Tokenization emerged as the clear centerpiece of the conference, with multiple sessions exploring real-world asset (RWA) adoption and infrastructure development.
Concerns remain about liquidity fragmentation. While tokenization is gathering pace, several speakers noted that regulatory frameworks are evolving at very different speeds across Asian jurisdictions, creating challenges for cross-border liquidity and market efficiency.
