agmsports.org/newsletter/dai… Led by Spencer Miles, the #BlueJays ruined Carlos Rodón’s strong start, blanking the #Yankees 2-0. #RepBX mustered just three hits on a night where Aaron Judge struck out for the seventh straight time, and his teammates failed to back him up. The Yankees have scored in just one of their last 18 innings as their bats continue to scuffle. They have fallen to 4.5 games and six losses behind the first-place #Rays, who will visit Yankee Stadium tonight. “We don’t like splitting that series, but we’ll take care of business in the next one,” Judge said.

agmsports.org/newsletter/gam… Josh Hart was glued to the bench during the #Knicks’ historic Game 1 comeback, so he went to the gym to work on his shooting. Like his team in last night’s 109-93 Game 2 victory, Hart used old-fashioned grit and determination to record his best playoff game ever. Then, he delivered his best quote ever: “I’m never a huge analytics guy. At a certain point, they’re a lamppost to a drunk person. You can lean on them, but it won’t get you home.” #AlwaysKnicks #LetEmKnow #NBAPlayoffs

agmsports.org/newsletter/26-… Game 1 was historic for the #Knicks as they mounted a dramatic fourth-quarter comeback, led by Jalen Brunson. The #AlwaysKnicks forced #LetEmKnow into one of the biggest choke jobs in #NBA history, setting the tone for a series they should dominate. The #Cavs could not keep up with the Knicks on Tuesday, especially so soon after a seven-game series. Tonight, the Knicks can put themselves in a prime position heading into Cleveland. They can build off Tuesday’s momentum and knock the Cavs out of New York City.

agmsports.org/newsletter/dai… Aaron Judge struck out four times against #BlueJays50 yesterday, but his .148 batting average through his last seven games pales in comparison to Austin Wells’s .091 mark. Wells, arguably, cost #RepBX yesterday’s game. In the top of the seventh inning, Cam Schlittler lost his composure, permitting a walk and two singles to load the bases. The second single came on a three-foot ground ball that Wells misplayed.

agmsports.org/newsletter/dai… On Monday, it was David Bednar. Yesterday, it was Camilo Doval. Last night’s game was too close for comfort, but the #Yankees escaped ninth-inning trouble to beat the #BlueJays 5-4. The Yankees were lucky Ben Rice hit a two-run homer in the fifth inning, and even luckier that Tim Hill, Jake Bird, and Brent Headrick pitched three scoreless frames. The struggling Doval’s rusty 5.19 ERA needed all the help it could get in the ninth inning. #RepBX #BlueJays50

agmsports.org/newsletter/gam… Call it unprecedented. Call it improbable. Call it… the greatest #Knicks playoff game of the century! With 7:49 remaining, 999 out of 1,000 times, the #Cavs would have won this game. So, it had to be over. Right? WRONG! “This team, all we want to do is make the city proud and bring this city wins,” Karl-Anthony Towns said. And that they did. #AlwaysKnicks #LetEmKnow #NBAPlayoffs

agmsports.org/newsletter/dai… Last night, Aaron Boone did the impermissible: He deployed David Bednar in the ninth inning. The #Yankees were leading the Toronto Blue Jays by two runs in the bottom of the ninth, so somebody had to close the game. Bednar was lucky to have a two-run lead to work with (although three runs were insufficient coverage the day before). It took Bednar 36 pitches and three baserunners, but he finally secured his 11th save of the season, and #RepBX defeated #BlueJays50 7-6.

agmsports.org/newsletter/dai… One hanging curveball. The Subway Series came down to one hanging curveball. Yesterday should have been easy for the #Yankees. They were leading 6-3 with two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning when David Bednar hung a curveball to Tyrone Taylor. The only question was whether the ball would land to the left or right of the left-field orange foul pole. Now, imagine sitting behind that left-field foul pole. I knew the inevitable was coming. I saw Taylor’s home run ball soaring through the air, and then I blacked out before watching it bounce around the seats to my left. There was no doubt about it: That ball was fair, and the #Mets had tied the game. #RepBX #LGM #SubwaySeries

agmsports.org/newsletter/dai… Each team's rising stars will narrate this rendition of the Subway Series. For #RepBX, Cam Schlittler, who is scheduled to start for the #Yankees tonight despite taking a hard comebacker to his calf on Saturday, has been electric in his first full Big League season. His 1.35 ERA leads AL starting pitchers. For #LGM, Carson Benge and AJ Ewing have given their team momentum entering this series. Nolan McLean, the #Mets’ Schlittler, will not pitch this weekend, but he is another critical piece of their future.

agmsports.org/newsletter/dai… Disaster struck in Baltimore today as #RepBX lost to #Birdland 7-0, along with their best pitcher. Max Fried exited the game after three innings with left elbow posterior soreness. The severity of Fried’s injury is unclear, and team physician Dr. Ahmad will examine the #Yankees’ top southpaw.

agmsports.org/newsletter/dai… “He’s been such a good performer for us here on both sides of the ball,” #RepBX manager Aaron Boone said of José Caballero. “He’s been a key part of our team to this point, but again, hopefully it’s just a day-to-day situation.” News flash: It is not a day-to-day situation; Caballero has fractured his right middle finger, and the Yankees have called up Anthony Volpe. It is only a matter of time before #Yankees fans start wagging their right middle fingers at their baseball team.

Anthony Volpe is back in the majors, a source told @TheAthleticMLB. No official move yet, but this means José Caballero is likely going on the IL. @francysromeroFR was first.

agmsports.org/newsletter/dai… A gaping hole in the bottom of the #Yankees' lineup was magnified against #ThisIsMyCrew this weekend: the catchers. Austin Wells and JC Escarra are both left-handed hitters. Wells, the starting catcher, went 0-for-6 in this series with four strikeouts. He is hitting .183 this season with three home runs and five RBI. Last season, Wells recorded a career-high 71 RBI after he served as the cleanup hitter on a 2024 Pennant-winning #RepBX team. This season, if he plays 126 games like last year, he is on track for just over 20 RBI. The Yankees have scored 215 runs this season, the most in the American League, but imagine where they’d be if Wells’s production were anywhere near what it was last season.

agmsports.org/newsletter/new… Today, the #Knicks can make history. They swept Philadelphia in the first round of the 1989 playoffs. 37 years later, they can do it again. If this #AlwaysKnicks team wants to show it is different from its past renditions, then it must sweep the #76ers today. The Knicks have created an opportunity to rest an unseemly amount before the conference finals, but first, they must stamp the envelope and stick it in the mailbox.

agmsports.org/newsletter/gam… Life is awesome when a team wins a playoff game without one of its biggest stars. The #AlwaysKnicks didn’t need OG Anunoby to stuff the #76ers in a 0-3 hole. No #NBA team has ever overcome a three-game deficit in a best-of-seven series, and despite being without Anunoby, the #Knicks sealed the envelope with a 108-94 victory in Philadelphia.
