Agri Aware is pleased to announce that Tipperary-based company @AgritechIreland has committed to coming on board as a patron. Established in 1977, Agritech is a family-owned business in Nenagh. It manufactures and supplies a range of quality, innovative, nutritional forage products for livestock farmers. Agritech joins over 60 patrons of Agri Aware, strengthening the agri-food educational body’s mission to enhance agricultural literacy amongst the general public. A glimpse into what goes on at the Lidl Farm 🌱 We were delighted to welcome @martinheydontd to see the Lidl Farm in action! Students explored the polytunnels, learned all about the milking process and different animal feeds, planted their own lettuce, and discovered the importance of soil types. The Irish Farm Film Producers Group (IFFPG), Ireland’s national farm plastics recycling scheme, has become the latest organisation to join Agri Aware as a patron. Established in 1998, IFFPG is the national, not-for-profit compliance scheme responsible for the collection and recycling of farm plastics. The organisation works with farmers, industry stakeholders, and government bodies to deliver one of the highest recycling rates in Europe, ensuring that Ireland’s agricultural sector continues to meet ambitious sustainability and circular economy goals. IFFPG joins over 60+ patrons of Agri Aware, further strengthening the agri-food educational body’s mission to enhance agricultural literacy among the general public.

Agri Aware’s Farm Walk & Talk is back for 2026! Our annual series is returning, giving second-level Agricultural Science students the chance to step out of the classroom and onto farms across the country in the coming weeks. Each event will cover all cross-cutting themes of the Ag Science curriculum, with a dedicated Individual Investigative Study (IIS) stand worth 25% of the final grade where students can chat directly with Agri Aware Education Officers and get project advice. Students will see real-world farming in action, exploring the latest agricultural techniques, research and technologies in a practical, hands-on setting After a hugely successful 2025 with over 4,100 students taking part we can’t wait to welcome teachers and students back to farms where modern, innovative agriculture is happening every day. This year, @laoisoffalyetb have come on board to partner on the series with @teagasc @farmersjournal @ucdagfood

A look back at Agri Aware’s Food For Thought Industry Briefing. We heard valuable insights from leading voices across the agri-food sector, including Tadhg Buckley (IFA), Kevin Maher (IBEC), Ksenija Simovic (COPA-COGECA), and Phelim O’Neill (Irish Farmers Journal). Speakers shared expert perspectives on key issues shaping the agricultural landscape, including Mercosur, the Nitrates Directive, and the CAP.
