— "There is water thicker than blood. The point I agonized over the most while preparing the trailer was defining "family". I had to choose whether to direct with a classic yet clichéd concept of family in mind, or to tell the story of a fragmented new generation reflecting current social trends. However, at some point, these concerns were resolved in their own way, and I found the answer. I concluded that even without a blood relation, if familial trust and love embrace one another, that is simply family. Being each other's mother, father, daughter, son, and even friends. LE SSERAFIM, whom I met while filming, is stronger and warmer than any family I have ever seen. Watching them, I felt quite envious. This was because there was such a strong bond and boundless affection between them."
