I’m glad the Pope is helping lead humanity’s moral compass amid these technological changes. This is exactly what I expect religion to do: being a moral leader when it matters.
Pope Leo XIV@Pontifex
As evidenced by the unbridled promotion and implementation of technology at the expense of human dignity, we are truly experiencing an eclipse of the sense of what it means to be human. It is imperative to recover an understanding of the true meaning and grandeur of humanity as intended by God. It is in this sense that the challenge we currently face is not technological, but anthropological, and it is my hope that the Encyclical Letter to be published within a few days will contribute to answering this challenge.

@bettercallsalva Totally agree. They’ll have to retain users through the ecosystem of tools and the workflows. As has always happened, implementation keeps winning over the raw underlying technology.

@agustinbg commoditization at the model layer is happening, the differentiator is the toolchain. claude code with skills + mcp + hooks is hard to replicate even if the underlying weights are competitive elsewhere. the moat moved up the stack.

After leading AI workshops with Mexico’s biggest companies I’ve noticed something i call
"the productivity illusion"
> people using AI to optimize processes that shouldn’t exist in the first place
> tons of workslop (ie reports, dashboards. mails) being generated that none will ever read or use
Basically, a gap in critical thinking, heavily augmented by AI
