I am attempting to travel home despite all the engineering works/ replacement bus services etc. A very strung out lady next to me has just moved seats half way through the journey. Possibly because I am sipping a full bottle of Rosé wine from the bottle. Deal with it, sister.

Brunch at 11. Son waved off to a police shift at 1. Dog out for an hour then a dog paddock for a mental run. (The dog, not me) First drink at 5, followed by cheese and crisps. Then stuck into the single malt. Now I’m a bit pissed, ready for bed.

Not feeling the Christmas spirit. I miss my kids. Don’t get me wrong they’ll be here tomorrow, but they’re grown ups now, and I miss the magic from when they were young and their unbridled excitement. Tomorrow I’ll be waving my son off to a police shift. It’s not quite the same.

It’s not the defeats that annoy me. It’s the manner of the defeats. Capitulation, no grit, no fight. No repercussions, no battle for places. I don’t like what this England side have become.

So I’m off to see some ballet tomorrow with my little sister. Not sure if I like ballet? Anyway, I’ll report back.
