Hon’ble MLA Lal Chowk, @ahsanpardesi today laid the foundation stone for an overhead water tank with a capacity of 50,000 gallons in the Shivpora Srinagar in presence of cheif engineer Superintending Engineer, executive engineer Jal Shakti and other officers of department. This vital project addresses a long-standing need of the locality, where several areas- particularly those situated at higher elevations, lower belts, and tail ends-have been facing persistent water supply issues. Speaking on the occasion, the Hon’ble MLA expressed confidence that the construction of this overhead tank will permanently resolve the water scarcity concerns and ensure equitable distribution of water across the entire Shivpora area. He emphasized that this initiative will significantly improve the quality of life for residents and strengthen essential infrastructure in the locality. He lauded the efforts of the Jal Shakti Department for their dedication and commitment towards public welfare and expressed his sincere gratitude to the officials involved. He also congratulated the people of Shivpora and the department on the commencement of this important project. While interacting with the media, the Hon’ble MLA highlighted that during the ongoing Assembly session, he has introduced a crucial bill concerning graveyards. He stated that the objective of the bill is to urge the government to take responsibility for providing designated cemetery spaces across Jammu and Kashmir. He pointed out that existing graveyards have significantly shrunk over time, leaving very limited space, and that purchasing land for burial purposes has become increasingly unaffordable for the common people. He stressed that access to burial space is a matter of great importance, particularly for the Muslim community, and said that the issue could escalate into a more serious concern in the future if not addressed promptly. He urged the government to take immediate and decisive action on this matter and expressed hope that the bill will be tabled and passed in the Assembly, thereby providing much-needed relief and long-term benefit to the community.

Hon’ble MLA Lal Chowk, @ahsanpardesi today inaugurated a vital overhead water tank at Tulsi Bagh , in the presence of the Chief Engineer, Superintending Engineer, and Executive Engineer of the Jal Shakti Department. The newly commissioned overhead tank, with a capacity of 70,000 gallons, marks a significant milestone in strengthening the water supply infrastructure of the area. This important project is expected to greatly enhance water availability and ensure more reliable supply to the adjoining localities of Solina, Wazirbagh, Tulsibagh, and Aloochi Bagh. With the tank now becoming functional, residents of these areas will witness a marked improvement in their daily water needs. On the occasion, the Hon’ble MLA lauded the dedicated efforts of the Jal Shakti Department and appreciated their commitment towards public welfare and timely execution of essential infrastructure projects. He also congratulated the residents on the operationalization of this much-needed facility, emphasizing that it will bring substantial relief to the people. Highlighting his continued focus on improving water supply across the constituency, the MLA reiterated that both he and the department are working to ensure that every household receives direct tap water connectivity. He noted that several similar projects, including additional overhead tanks, are currently under execution, while many more are in the planning stages.
