Makanya, ia bentuk yang namanya “Dewan Sepak Bola” yang terdiri dari head of recruitment, head of development, head of football strategy, head of performance, tim pelatih, perwakilan pemilik, sport director, sampai tim keuangan.

"INTER, HUGE CONGRATULATIONS FROM ME TO YOU" - Dzeko: "Historic season for Inter, I'm not surprised. Muharemovic would be top signing" It was only in January — hardly a lifetime ago — that Edin Dzeko appeared ready to call time on his career. But true champions often draw on something deeper than pride alone. Dzeko found his answer by returning to Germany, throwing himself back into the battle in the 2. Bundesliga and helping Schalke 04 secure promotion back to the top flight. Mission accomplished, followed by celebrations on a boat party along the Costa del Sol. Then, on March 31, he experienced another priceless moment: helping unite Bosnians of three different ethnic backgrounds and two generations in celebration on the streets of Sarajevo, as the national team secured World Cup qualification for the first time since 2014. Now, having just turned 40, Dzeko is reflecting on the final chapter of an extraordinary career. What comes next for you? “I don’t know yet. I need to sit down and speak with the club. For now, I’m simply enjoying the happiness of having helped restore Schalke to where it belongs: the Bundesliga.” Just a few months ago, at Fiorentina, you seemed rather discouraged. “That’s true. I wasn’t playing much, the situation within the team was chaotic, and I was seriously considering retirement. But deep down, there was a voice telling me I couldn’t leave football feeling unhappy. So I made a change. I needed a club that would give me regular playing time, because my great objective was to take part in my final World Cup.” And so, your Bosnia played a cruel trick on Italy. Was that Dzeko’s revenge? “No — why would it be? Honestly, I believe your national team is stronger than ours. The match also unfolded the way it did because of Bastoni’s red card. In my opinion, Italy were eliminated because they felt the pressure of seeing a third consecutive World Cup slipping away — pressure that, from what I saw, was also intensified by the media.” In what sense? “For days, all the focus was on our stadium: the ‘hell’ Italy would face in Zenica, the balconies overlooking the pitch, the atmosphere. But there was very little analysis of the actual quality of the Bosnian team. We have several interesting talents, even if, on paper, we were not quite at Italy’s level.” Did the whole saga surrounding the celebration video — featuring Dimarco, Vicario and Esposito — fire you up? “I don’t think that incident had any major impact. I’ve certainly celebrated draws myself in the past. The issue is that, in the age of social media, you have to be extremely careful with everything you do, otherwise you risk being caught out. The circulation of that video certainly created a bit of noise.” In your view, what is the fundamental problem affecting Italian football? You’ve experienced it from different perspectives over many years. “It’s not really my place to say. But judging by the results, something is clearly broken. A team like Italy simply should not be afraid of opponents such as Bosnia — or Wales, for that matter.” Let’s go back to Florence. What went wrong there? “Sometimes you simply don’t settle in at a particular club. Expectations were high and, in the end, no one — myself included — managed to live up to them.” Inter are a club where you are still remembered fondly. Did you expect them to have a season like this? “I can’t say I’m surprised, because even when I was there, the club and the team were already operating at a very high level. But this has truly been a historic season, and I can only congratulate everyone involved. That includes Chivu as well: at first, people looked at him with a certain degree of skepticism, but he has genuinely proven his worth.” How far are Inter from becoming competitive in Europe again? “They didn’t do well in the Champions League, but that can happen.” A young Bosnian defender, Muharemovic, could be their first signing of the summer. “That would be a top-level move — both for Inter and for the player, whom I obviously know very well. He is a young defender who is ready to make the leap.” Is the other gem, Alajbegovic, ready for a big club? “He’s 18 years old and has a great personality. Otherwise, you don’t step up and take two decisive penalties in the World Cup playoffs. But he needs to keep his feet on the ground and choose carefully. My advice would be to go somewhere where he has the space to grow.” Will Dzeko’s other former club, Roma, qualify for the Champions League? “I hope so. Like Inter, Roma holds a special place in my heart. I’m hoping my former captain, Daniele, manages to stop Milan tomorrow — I think he can do it.” Finally, Edin, what is the secret to your longevity? “I’ve learned to take care of my body consistently. It’s the only way to slow down the aging process.” So, are you going to keep playing? “As long as I feel I can still be useful to the team I’m playing for, I have no reason to stop. I never would have believed that 10 years ago. So I’ll keep going — I just don’t know where yet.” GdS
