Today the AHS Speech team captured the 3A Indiana High School Speech State Championship. That makes three years in a row. We also had three individual state champions: Doyin Akande, Nancy Orogun, and and Janani Devendran. Congratulations on an amazing season!

Congrats to our 13 national qualifiers & for our team sweepstakes win at today’s District Speech Tournament! Special congrats to Matt Shockley for District Admin of the Year and Larry Alcorn for District Assistant Coach of the Year. Thank you to Bloomington South HS for hosting!

6:00 am departures, 6 month long seasons-Today we compete for our 5th straight sectional title. But it is not about the ribbons. Instead it is about the opportunity to use our voices for good. ❤️. Go Avon Speech.

The AHS Speech team headed to Rushville today for our last meet before sectionals in two weeks! Congrats for a first place win and to our ten individual event champions!

With another 1st place team win, the AHS Speech team had another wonderful weekend! Congrats to our 8 individual event champions, and thank you to Southport for hosting!

The AHS Debate team brought home 5th at State Debate! Congrats to the team of Andrew O., Kayden S., Jay D., Nancy O., and Sabela M. for 2nd; Janani D. for 3rd; and Santiago J. for semifinalist! Thank you to all of the staff & volunteers who made this home tournament possible!

With another 1st place team sweepstakes title and 7 individual event champions, the Avon Speech Team had an incredible weekend at IU Columbus!

The Avon Speech and Debate Team had a stellar performance at their home meet today, with 31 placements and 7 individual event champions! A huge thank you to all of the staff, parents, and students who made this large meet possible!

We started the season off right taking home a 1st place team sweepstakes title and 13 individual event champions! Thanks to Vincennes University for hosting the tournament today.

The Avon Speech and Debate team kicked off their season this week with their annual Intrasquad Meet. Students practiced competition etiquette through practice rounds and celebrated with cookies and cider afterward. Let the season begin!

This guy has been busy! Congrats to Santiago Jimenez for recently competing in LD Debate at two national tournaments and placing in the top 10% in speaker’s points. He also presented at the ISSDA conference sharing about the organization, Equity in Forensics. He makes us proud!

2025 Avon grads Mercy Olaniyan and Precious Olaniyan along with AHS  junior Jay Desai presented at the SEED/STEM Poster Symposium at the IU School of Medicine! Congrats to them on their hard work this summer! #speechinaction
