Gonna vent a little!! I’m so sad I’m having a flare up 😭 like genuinely it sucks so much!! Amaya checked in on me like yesterday asking if I’ve had any recent flare ups and I was so proud I haven’t had to deal with it in so long… then BAM it returns today 😭 manifested.. LOOOL

@fioda @denpafish This is extremely common and is a genuine issue. even experienced builder forget sometimes.

@denpafish not a big deal, just not optimal, ie: sometimes it can run a bit hotter the real issue is if you forgot to peel the sticker on the cooler, that one with the message to remove before use.

OKAY im sorry I have so many questions im a total noob and some things are so specific when googling I probably will fix it before using but if the fans are backwards will I cook my pc if I did use it before fixing them. Jelp

@denpafish If you paid a whole lot for memory that specd to run at 6400MHz, that is a lot of lost performance. This is missed pretty often for newbie builders, as a lot of tutorials miss it.

@denpafish So by default your ram will run a lot slower than its specd for. Depending on your CPU brand, your going to want to look for the EXPO/DOCP or XMP setting in your bios to make it run the correct speed. Without that your memory will run at say 4800MHz for ddr5 for example

@denpafish Not at all. I fix PCs for a living, so I see a lot of them, but limited to one builder. So I see a lot of them, but usually only the same few components again and again. One thing to make sure a lot of people miss is to set your memory profile in bios.

@NiPickle_ @denpafish And it just occurred to me you probably meant the rear fan. I would doublecheck the fan itself, but you are likely correct.

@NiPickle_ @denpafish That depends. Reverse blade fans have become a lot more common in the last few years. Most fans will have an arrow on them indicating the airflow direction. Those are usually rgb though.

@MetalIzanagi346 @denpafish oh fun. I don't think I've seen one before that overhangs the front instead of the back, but there are hundreds of different coolers out there, so I'm not surprised

@ahtalos @denpafish It's because the cooler she picked is a dual tower type that overhangs the memory slots, and her RAM is tall.

HELP major problem tech bros.. I ended up getting a smaller pc case than planned cuz the one. I got was TOO TOO BIG for my room AND my cpu cooler is too big for the case and it touches the ram so I have to remove ram or??? Does anyone have smaller cooler recommend

@denpafish Sure, more is better than less. It can even come out the sides a little it wont hurt anything. Not enough paste will be bad tho

what is the best way to apply thermal paste when building a pc are Smiley faces alright to do
