and some people still have the guts to hate the song without knowing the concept’s depth (tbh they’re irrelevant bc they don’t care deep enough like fearnots do. go bark. we still win bc we’re getting more streams and that’s something to celebrate).
nat ☆彡 🎉@yunjinrs

yunjin explains her own meaning of the ‘creature’, ‘celebration’ & le sserafim’s album ‘pureflow pt.1’ ❤️‍🩹 🐶 when we made this, the creature in our story was something specific to us, who was a version of ourselves that we had rejected, the parts that we hide, the shame that we carry.. but i think the creature can be a lot of things. he could be one of the pieces of you the world has told you to be shamed of, he could be anything you’ve been running from because you couldn’t bare to look at it. for some people that might be internalized fear, part of yourself that you hate before you even understood what it was. for some it’s trauma you’ve never spoken out loud. for some it can be body dysmorphia the way you can’t look into the mirror without flinching. for some it’s shame about your family, your past, your mistakes, your desires, your difference. whatever it is, we all have a creature. we all have a part of ourselves we’ve kept locked outside the door because we were afraid of what it would mean to let it in.. and what i want to say with this album and this song is you don’t have to keep running. you can turn around. you can open the door and when you do, whether that’s with a friend, with someone who loves you or even just with yourself in the mirror, the things you’ve always been afraid of is not a monster; it’s a part of you that has been waiting this whole time to be met. we hope the song finds people who need it. we hope it reaches whoever is sitting outside their own door, scared to go in. we hope that it reminds them that the bravest thing isn’t pretending the creature isn’t there, it’s showing up with your own scars and saying “me too, let me in. let’s celebrate together.”

i’m gonna re-read the book. bye.
AJ | 不死 🎉@Lesseraphic

Yunjin talks about the meaning and inspiration of CELEBRATION “Mary Shelley's says that we destroy each other by not showing our fears or our own pain. The story that we tried to rewrite says that we can save each other by being brave enough to show each other our scars.” [Longer transcript] So the book isn't about science or monsters it's about what happens to an existence that wants love but is denied it. The creature wasn't born evil, he becomes monstrous because of the things that happen to them. Victor wasn't born evil either, his ambition isn't a crime its that he wasn't able to face the ugliness that he created because he saw a reflection of all the pain and insecurities and the grief and the shame and in him through the creature. So he ran, the whole book he ran away and isn't able to look the creature in the eye and see him for what he is. It was a very sad ending. [...] So we took the story and changed the story to where instead of the creature coming to them, they come to the creature as he runs away all the way to space. And finally on another planet we can show him what we are, we all have same pain, the same flaws. We are all stitched up, we have seams, we have flaws. It's only at the end when we show him that we're just as flawed as him does he accept us and let us in. Instead of staying on the planet we go back to his home, celebrating together instead of isolating. To me what this inversion of the story means is that Mary Shelley's says that we destroy each other by not showing our fears or our own pain. The story that we tried to rewrite says that we can save each other by being brave enough to show each other our scars.
