If you’re into #donorconception consider giving @DC_Aust a follow (again): new account to replace old one that was lost. It’s stuck in X purgatory for the algorithm to decide robo/real so any interactions with real accounts over the next few weeks will help. #donorconceived

Sperm whale calls are far more complex than we thought – and could be an animal communication system that is the closest thing to human language discovered yet. #Echobox=1715572486" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">newscientist.com/article/242994…

@DebbieKennett Yes it is. Members and allies of the DC community in Australia have advocated for many years for legislative reform and more and more jurisdictions are passing legislation to ensure registers will provide info where it exists so DNA tests are not the only option. We are lucky.

@aimeeshack It's sad that you should have to pay for commercial DNA tests to access knowledge that should by rights have been yours in the first place.

@DebbieKennett That’s always been my recommendation too. AncestryDNA is the most successful database for Australian DCP. Our community and others are still forced to use a variety of companies to connect with all of our kin, and 23andMe is the second paid option.

@aimeeshack DCP should always test first at AncestryDNA. They have a database of 25 million or more compared to about 14 million at 23andMe, many of whom aren't opted in to relative matching.

@DrGiselleNewton Add the email account, then, in settings, turn off emails and leave the calendar on. It will keep your calendar synced without the emails.

@sarahdingle_ @JennaPrice @SBS @DC_Aust Looking forward to this…..and an insight into an industry that still has no national database or regulation and needs to make it easier for donor conceived people to access information

Hey #adopteetwitter and #donorconceivedtwitter, I’m wondering how common it is for those of us who advocate for reform to face online trolling/harassment/bullying? You don’t have to go in to details, but leave a reply if you’ve been on the receiving end.

I think it's time to start a page called Suiter or Serial Killer? Women everywhere can post unsolicited messages they receive from men that are perhaps supposed to be charming but are just weird and creepy. And then we can all have a laugh. Here's one I just received.
