My largest position ever, and why Im very bullish🔥
I follow the fundamentals, not the stock price ;)
After buying more $IREN around $38 this week, my share count is now the highest it’s ever been. I loaded up heavily in Mar/Apr 2025 (avg $6.70), making it my largest position. I rode the ~10x over 6 months before trimming 50% between $50-$70 right before the $MSFT deal.
9 months later, it’s a completely different company. Here is why I believe $IREN is about to separate itself from the pack:
The Earnings SetupI expect one last "weak" quarter (CY Q2 2026) before $IREN proves to the market why they are superior and deserve a premium over every other neocloud. Next quarter brings the FY26 report.
I honestly hope they "kitchen-sink" it—take all the write-downs at once (like the $520M tied to Bitcoin mining depreciation) to set the stage for an absolute monster FY27.
The Margin Moat: By building their own data centers, $IREN secures vastly higher margins than competitors. Yes, "time to compute" takes longer, but once the DCs are online, the margin capture is unmatched.
De-Risking ExecutionHorizon 1 delivery to $MSFT is just days away (expecting it Friday 7/17 or pre-market Monday 7/20). This removes significant execution risk. They will prove to the market that they can build the most advanced data centers in the world today. What other neocloud has actually proven this?
Pricing power and the SpaceX AI Playbook: The market has punished $IREN for not sitting on massive backlogs like $NBIS and $CRWV, completely missing the fact that this is a deliberate advantage. Look at the recent SpaceX AI contracts with Anthropic and Google. SpaceX proved the ultimate playbook:
if you delay locking in contracts until your compute capacity is actually ready, you command astronomical lease rates. AI developers are desperate for compute now, not in two years, and they will pay massive premiums for immediate availability.
$IREN is executing this exact strategy. By waiting to sign leases until facilities (like Mackenzie) are nearing completion, they aren't locking themselves into yesterday's lower prices. They are weaponizing immediate supply to dictate premium rates (expecting well above the +$5 we seen). In the AI arms race, immediate availability is the ultimate leverage.
Bottom Line: Not financial advice, but I am incredibly bullish on the fundamentals over the next 18 months, and I believe the stock price will follow, and I also believe the worst is behind us. Looking forward to Horizon 1 deleivery!
The quarter that will truly prove $IREN's thesis is CY Q1 2027.

The market is loves backlogs, but they are sleeping on the premium $IREN commands by structuring contracts as close to the raw compute as possible.

$IREN Horizon 1 handover imminent Satellite imagery confirms that the grounds around the Horizon 1 complex, including data halls, liquid cooling plant, and network core building — have been paved ahead of customer handover. Furthermore, security has increased, with Microsoft bringing in their own security equipment, including a brand new security booth, which needs to be passed to enter the complex grounds. If you have any sense of how these projects work, then you realize that these events are the final details of a customer moving in, rather than a construction team moving out. Do with that information what you will, but shorting @IREN_Ltd ahead of a PR storm of relevant stakeholders, celebrating a 1 out of 4 identical projects successfully being turned into a billing AI factory, sounds pretty irresponsible to me.
