The Malaysia AI Superbooth took attendees on an immersive journey into the nation’s AI evolution and its impacts across different sectors, from agriculture to education. It was a statement of Malaysia’s rising role at the forefront of AI development in ASEAN.

At ‘The Backbone of ASEAN AI: Cloud Computing in the AI Era’, Rickie Lin of Alibaba Cloud stressed that robust, secure, and scalable data infrastructure is key to AI success. He called for inclusive, collaborative cloud power to drive ASEAN’s digital future.

The ‘AI-Powered Cybersecurity: Protecting Organisations from Emerging Threats’ session provides insight that while AI boosts defence, human oversight, governance and collaboration will define who wins the “machine vs machine” era of cybersecurity.

At ‘Smart, Inclusive, and Data-Driven: AI's Role in ASEAN Healthcare’ session, panellists highlighted AI’s power to speed diagnoses, personalise care, and promote equity, all while complementing human compassion. AI is the way forward in transforming ASEAN’s healthcare system.

AI is reshaping ASEAN finance with speed, intelligence, and trust. At ‘Innovation with Integrity: Aligning AI, Fintech and Public Infrastructure’, panellists emphasised that purpose, policy, and integrity will define the value of an AI-powered future, driving impact across ASEAN.

AI is making learning more personalised, inclusive and future-ready. At ‘The Next Class: Inclusive & Intelligent Learning in the AI Era’, panellists emphasised AI as a complement to teachers, bridging divides, fostering skills, and critical thinking for the digital age.

The ‘Reimagining Expression: AI’s Creative Impact on Arts, Animation & Design’ session showed how AI boosts creativity, speeds workflows and empowers small teams, while human connection and authenticity stay irreplaceable. AI is a creative ally, not a replacement.

Adj. Prof. Dr. Behrang (Hani) Parhizkar, CEO of ChamRun Digital, spoke on how governments are exploring the use of Agentic AI to transform public services. He emphasised that by starting small and scaling what works, we can accelerate AI adoption that delivers real impact.

Automation is inevitable, but control is a choice. In his keynote, Professor Sanjay Sarma, Eminent Visiting Professor and Member of Board of Governors, Asia School of Business, called for ASEAN to steer AI and automation towards progress that is inclusive and beneficial for all.

At #ASEANAISummitMalaysia2025, Krispian Lawrence, Co-Founder and CEO, PEEK, unveiled a pill capable of detecting colorectal cancer earlier and easier than ever. As AI advances, ASEAN must be ready to evolve with it, keeping innovation and responsibility at its core.

‘Data Governance for AI: Building Trust and Compliance in ASEAN’, the panellists discussed building ethical, transparent, and accountable AI in ASEAN. From diverse regulations to privacy, the message was clear, trust is the foundation for AI adoption and regional leadership.

In the session, "The Startup Bridge: AI Innovation Between Emerging and Mature Markets", panellists emphasised the importance of partnerships and collaboration. By leveraging Malaysia’s diversity and inclusivity, ASEAN can lead the wave of AI adoption as a strong AI testing hub.

The inaugural ASEAN AI Malaysia Summit 2025 united over 10,000 attendees to shape the region’s AI future. A historic milestone that strengthens ties and sets ASEAN on course to lead the global AI landscape now and in the years ahead.

The ASEAN AI Malaysia Summit 2025 Youth Caucus gathered youth delegates and leaders from 10 ASEAN nations to push for risk-based, sector-specific AI frameworks, inclusive literacy, and regional collaboration, proving the youth are ready to build an AI future that works for all.

At ‘AI & Jobs: Navigating Displacement, Policy & Shared Responsibility’, Siva Kumeren A Narayanan of Talent Corporation Malaysia Berhad highlighted that AI could disrupt 72% of job skills by 2030, stressing that a ‘skills-first’ approach is key to bridging critical talent gaps.

At ‘AI & the Energy Transition: Scaling Innovation for Sustainable Power in ASEAN’, the panellists shared how AI can optimise grids, forecast demand and boost renewables. The goal: smarter, cleaner, inclusive energy for ASEAN’s future powered by collaboration.
