Do people in the QTs not know that Iranians have venerated Zoroaster as a prophet of monotheism since forever? this isn’t strange at all
Iran in Mumbai@IRANinMumbai
On the birth anniversary of #Zoroaster, we honor his timeless message: Good (Thoughts, Words, Deeds). He elevated humanity beyond darkness & practices tied to deities like #Baal that demanded human sacrifice (esp. baby girls like what the US did to the schoolchildren of #Minab)

HOLY SHIT I just had the BEST Uber driver conversation ever with a Pakistani guy in Australia who just spontaneously started denouncing British Pakistanis
He said he hated British Pakistanis because they abandoned Islam by selling drugs and doing terrible things. I didn’t mention the grooming gangs because it was too awkward but he kept saying “terrible things” so I think he must have been referring to them.
I asked “They are all Mirpuris, right? A lot of people say that the problem is they come from a really poor part of Pakistan, Mirpur.”
He got really excited that I knew about Mirpur.
He was like “How did you know Mirpuris? They have a terrible reputation in Pakistan. They don’t represent educated Pakistanis like me. They make us all look bad. The way they have acted in Britain, you can’t be surprised people are now turning against them.”
I asked him if he knew @mohammed_hijab and he said “I’ve listened to him but he’s too aggressive. I’m Sufi, I don’t like guys like that.”
Honestly a really cool guy, he started saying that he condemned people for burning the Australian flag at the Palestine rallies because migrants should respect the country that takes them in. He said he went to all the Palestine rallies but condemned any anti-Australian behaviour.
Before anybody thinks I’m making him up, he still had some really cooked views. He started saying that ISIS and the Pakistani generals were all controlled by America and Zionists and he started saying that all the Arab regimes were run by Yahudi (Jews).
He said he hated Wahabis so I asked him about Mohammad Bin Salman and he said he hated his reforms because they were anti-Islam.
I asked whether he meant letting women drive and he said no, he supported that, but he opposed hosting music concerts as Satanic. He said hosting Rihanna concerts in Saudi Arabia was Satanic because Saudi Arabia is the land of the Prophet and Mecca and Medina.
I asked him if he thought Mohammad Bin Salman was Yahudi (Jewish) and he said “a lot of people say that. There are a lot of rumours. I don’t think so. If he says he’s a Muslim, I believe him. But he does everything for Al-Dajjal (the anti-Christ) and the Zionists. Maybe he’s Yahudi.”
Then he said “I don’t hate the Yahudi, there are some good Jews, but the Zionists are all waiting for Dajjal. They are evil people.”
Obviously I didn’t tell him here that I believe Israel has a right to exist (which would make me Zionist).
I just was interested in speaking to him from an anthropological perspective so I nodded along and agreed enthusiastically with everything he said.
He said there was no solution to Gaza, the world just had to wait for the Mahdi to return before anything good could happen. He said the Mahdi and Isa (Jesus) would come and fight Al-Dajjal (the Anti-Christ).
I asked him if this meant that he was Twelver Shia and he said No, I’m Sunni, but I don’t believe in Sects, and a lot of Sunni believe in the Mahdi. Then he started talking about Sufi Islam and how he believed in an Islam of peace and respect for Christians and other people.
He asked me for my religion and I said Greek Orthodox. We talked for a bit about how Alexander the Great had founded Greek cities in Pakistan and then he said that I should become a Muslim.
He said that all the Greek Orthodox would become Muslim when Isa (Jesus) returned with the Mahdi. I just smiled and shook his hand and said “Salam alaikum” and he said “Wa Alaikum Salam” and I paid the $90 fare and left.
Such a strange and interesting conversation. I give him massive points for being able to say that what Pakistani British people have done is terrible.
Honestly respect to him for that one. Really cooked views about Middle Eastern politics. Maybe loses some points for saying MBS is Jewish and Rihanna concerts are Satanic. But I would still say overall he is one of the best Pakistanis I have met just because he could say what happened in Britain is bad
