@DavidAstinWalsh Mutualism and trust are built on top of solidarity. What might you have said or done that has caused some with whom you see yourself in solidarity to withhold their trust? Acting and speaking from a position of solidarity is the path to repair.

This is actually an important point and one I’ve been thinking a lot about recently: what are the obligations of solidarity—which is at its heart about mutual obligations—when one feels the ask has been one-way?

@DavidAstinWalsh So the solution here isn't forgiveness. It's redoubling your commitment to the cause you share with those who wronged you. Not because they deserve it or because you are righteous, but because we need every shoulder yolked against the forces arrayed against us all.

@DavidAstinWalsh By saying that solidarity is a path to repair what I mean is that right now you are focused on how this effects you personally. Politics isn't about that. It's about the shared stakes and commitments.
