Hard to find a knock on Gangsta Granny closing the card in the G2 Sapphire. She drops down in grade coming back from a solid 0.3L 3rd in the G3 Star Kingdom against the boys and drops 2.5kg. She held her form over the spring finishing 0.5L 2nd to Autumn Glow in the Toy Show 1st up and closing the prep with an unlucky 3rd to Stefi Magnetica in the Invitation. Gate 13 looks tricky on paper but now into 11 in a field where all but 2 of them have a midfield or worse settling pattern. She could land in the 1-1 or does have the speed to lead if need be.

@AussieBenC @RalphyHeraldSun A lot depends on how this year pans out for him and if Port rate him. If he’s still fringe/in and out of the Dogs end of season, he may simply want a fresh start and game time elsewhere. If a trade option, we need him to step up a little short term anyway.

It’s three firsts as a very minimum isn’t it but even the Merrett deal had a top 12 pick in it. Jeremy Cameron was three firsts and two seconds back but not many years on you would get little to nothing back and might need a top 10 pick involved. Dogs have A graders and lots of role players. And they aren’t giving away west-Croft-sanders-bailey Dale types who have huge potential upside. It’s going to be so difficult for anyone to get it done

@rohan_connolly Good piece. So much of 2025 analysis focused on Dogs w/l record vs top sides without looking at the losing margins. Work to be done, sure, but not as much as many thought. Be interesting to see if they’re more flexible in-game if an oppo fwd line gets on top, especially a big.
