Just yesterday I pointed people to Ben’s book for the details about fork choice to help understand the reorg even though it didn’t directly address it. Now it does directly address it. 🎉

@gakonst @jneu_net Anything that dynamically determines what to JIT could be abused by attackers to make you waste time compiling. Background compilation could be enough of a protection though.

@gakonst @jneu_net If you use this for MeV so you can process blocks faster and get in first then you might JIT specific contracts you’re interested in or that are common and get benefit.

Last year we worked with @jneu_net on a JIT EVM (among many other things) for converting EVM code to native machine code, using LLVM/inkwell, in Rust. High potential for big speedups! Finally open sourcing our PoC. Any takers for productionizing it? github.com/paradigmxyz/ji…

@benjaminion_xyz @rolfyone If England came to Australia in a couple of years and won two tests they should be seriously proud of the effort and when Sydney is inevitably washed out again would deserve to take home the Ashes.

@benjaminion_xyz @rolfyone I actually think it means a lot for the Aussies to win outright so the last test still means a lot. But given the home ground advantage in tests I think drawing an overseas series is still a big deal. I’d like to see the trophy go to the touring side for a drawn series.

Pro tip: when playing in a country famous for rain, don’t lose the first two tests. It’s not “unfair” for a test to be rained out in England, it’s expected.
