there's plenty of examples of not overdoing it but he so often does

and Toyo does this constantly with trying to define every muscle on the human body, shading in every wrinkle like shading Vegeta's balls, or all the skin wrinkles meanwhile the faces look like this

there's a certain type of balance an art style should have putting Goku's cartoony head on a realistic, veiny body is gonna look strange its insane people just can't understand, and instead go "but it's realistic" dragon ball doesn't have a fucking realistic style

@aka_DBOCs @AeonPeneko This is one of the instances where I actually think it works, and I’m not really a fan of his excessive vascularity either, usually Old people with low body fat (which Goku would most certainly be) look so damn veiny that I don’t think including it would be unnecessary
